Foundations laid from childhood
Captain Dinh Trung Khieu was born and raised in a family with a military tradition in Vinh Thanh commune. The image of his father - Colonel Dinh Minh Nhon, former Commander of the Military Command of Vinh Thanh district (old) - with his serious demeanor and stories about marches, training, and helping the people, instilled in the heart of the young boy from the highlands a sense of pride and a desire to follow in his footsteps in the military.

That dream was soon realized thanks to the guidance of his family and his own determination. In 2003, while many of his peers were still under their parents' care, Khieu boldly left home to enter the unique learning and training environment at the Ethnic Minority Cadet School of Military Region 5. “Six years of studying away from home (from grade 7 to grade 12) was not only a challenge but also laid the foundation for my character, ideals, and the path I would later dedicate myself to wearing the military uniform,” Khieu shared.
In 2009, after graduating from high school, he was selected to attend the Political Officer School – a training ground for political officers throughout the army. This was a crucial turning point, marking a transformation from an enthusiastic student participating in the "Military Semester" to a process of physical training, developing his character and personality as a revolutionary soldier. During his studies, he not only accumulated knowledge about Party work, political work, and ideology, but also honed his skills in propaganda, mobilizing the masses, organizing movements, and understanding the sentiments of the soldiers.
In particular, Captain Dinh Trung Khieu had the honor of being one of the exemplary soldiers selected to participate in the parade commemorating the 70th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd at Ba Dinh Square. This is a memorable milestone, further strengthening his faith, pride, and sense of responsibility towards the path he has chosen.
In December 2015, he graduated and was assigned to work at Brigade 573 (Military Region 5). With his well-trained knowledge, Khieu gradually affirmed his role as a young political officer, always closely involved with the troops, persistently monitoring their ideology, and flexible in his methods of propaganda and education .
In 2019, when he returned to work at the Military Command of Vinh Thanh district (formerly), he had the opportunity to become more deeply involved with the people. "Understanding the customs, traditions, and language of the Bana people helps my propaganda and mobilization work become more accessible, understandable, and easy to implement, thereby contributing to strengthening the people's trust in the Party, the State, and the Army," Khieu shared.
Following the implementation of the new local military agency model, in July 2025, Mr. Khieu was transferred to work at the Propaganda Department (Political Department, Gia Lai Provincial Military Command). In his current position, he continues to utilize his accumulated experience to contribute to improving the quality of political, ideological, propaganda, and legal education work within the local armed forces.
Innovation to improve work efficiency
At his unit, Captain Dinh Trung Khieu is mentioned by officers and soldiers as a "source of innovative ideas" in political work. For him, each propaganda activity should not only convey policies and resolutions, but must truly integrate into the lives of the soldiers, be easily accessible, easy to remember, and create a widespread impact. Therefore, he is always pondering and searching for new methods, stemming from the practical needs of the unit.

Driven by these concerns, Khieu proactively researched and implemented three outstanding initiatives: "Multipurpose Training Ground Propaganda Device," "Music Player for Unit Activities," and "Suggestion Box and Mood Survey System." Each initiative clearly reflects flexible and creative thinking, focusing on the soldiers and using practical effectiveness as a measure.
In particular, the "Multipurpose Training Ground Propaganda" initiative has breathed new life into propaganda work on the training ground, helping to naturally integrate political education content into training. The "Music Playing Equipment for Unit Activities" initiative promptly resolves difficulties in organizing activities, conferences, and ceremonies, contributing to improving the quality of cultural and political activities.
Most recently, in 2025, Captain Dinh Trung Khieu implemented the "Suggestion Box and Mood Survey" initiative. This model combines traditional feedback methods with digital technology applications. The suggestion box is designed with an integrated satisfaction survey button, a QR code, and a direct link to Google Forms. Through this, information is collected, analyzed, and feedback is provided quickly and accurately, helping unit leaders to promptly understand the thoughts and aspirations of officers and soldiers.
Mr. Khieu expressed that the initiative wasn't something grandiose, but rather something that addressed specific issues and helped the unit operate more smoothly. "When the form of communication is appropriate and engaging, officers and soldiers will find it easier to understand, and work efficiency will also improve," he added.
Colonel Vo Thanh Hai - Head of Political Department of the Provincial Military Command - assessed: “Comrade Khieu is a young political officer with courage, responsibility, and innovative thinking. In his work, he is always proactive, closely involved with the grassroots, daring to think and act, and especially has many practical initiatives that are suitable to the unit's reality. The models and methods he proposed not only bring clear results in political and ideological work but also create consensus and positive response from officers and soldiers.”
