TPO - Candidates applying for admission to the 10th grade in the 2025-2026 school year at the Foreign Language Specialized High School must take four independent subjects.
The High School for Gifted Students in Foreign Languages, University of Foreign Languages (Vietnam National University , Hanoi ) has just officially announced the entrance exam for 10th grade in the 2025-2026 academic year.
Accordingly, this year candidates will take four independent exams: Mathematics (120 minutes), Literature (90 minutes), English (60 minutes), and a specialized foreign language subject (90 minutes).

For specialized foreign language subjects, candidates can take the exam in one of the following languages: English for the following specialized classes: English, Russian, French, Chinese, German, Japanese, and Korean.
Take the French language exam to enter French-specialized classes. Take the Chinese language exam to enter Chinese-specialized classes. Take the German language exam to enter German-specialized classes. Take the Japanese language exam to enter Japanese-specialized classes. Take the Korean language exam to enter Korean-specialized classes.
Compared to 2024, this year's exam is less demanding for candidates. Last year, candidates had to take exams in Mathematics and Natural Sciences , Literature and Social Sciences, and a foreign language.

Candidates will take the exam on June 1st.
The school offers direct admission to the following candidates: junior high school students who have won national-level awards organized by the Ministry of Education and Training or in collaboration with other ministries and ministerial-level agencies on a nationwide scale in competitions, examinations, and contests related to culture, arts, sports; scientific and technical research competitions; and junior high school students who have won awards in foreign language subjects in international competitions selected by the Minister of Education and Training.
Students in junior high schools who win first prize in foreign languages in the provincial/city-level excellent student selection exams organized by the Department of Education and Training will receive 1.5 bonus points added to their total admission score.
The exam results will be announced before July 15, 2025, on the website of the University of Foreign Languages and the website of the High School for Gifted Students in Foreign Languages.
