The selection of a special-level hospital is an effort by the organizing committee to establish a solid, professional medical protection system to improve safety standards at large-scale, international-class sporting events in Vietnam.
With special strengths in emergency, resuscitation and outpatient emergency care, Bach Mai Hospital has built a dense medical support system along the entire competition route. Accordingly, Bach Mai Hospital will set up 21 medical stations along the race route to quickly access athletes and provide timely first aid to athletes with health problems.
The medical team on duty at these 21 stations are all trained in emergency care and equipped with basic skills for primary treatment; promptly report to the medical team leader to dispatch an ambulance in case of emergency.

Under the direction of Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Van Giap - Deputy Director of Bach Mai Hospital, 80 medical staff including doctors and nurses who are well-trained in emergency care will directly participate in the task.
Medical staff on duty at the tournament are also trained and certified in CPR according to US standards to respond promptly to the most dangerous accidents and complications, such as circulatory arrest and cardiac arrest (if any). The medical team and logistics team are also fully equipped with modern medicine and emergency equipment.
To ensure the safety of the tournament, the organizing committee and Bach Mai Hospital will also provide 8 ambulances fully equipped with modern emergency and resuscitation equipment such as ventilators, electric shock machines, monitors, oxygen systems, ready to respond quickly to any situation.
10 private hospital beds will also be prepared at specialized units such as the Cardiovascular Institute; A9 Emergency Center; Poison Control Center; Stroke Center; Intensive Care Center, ready for cases requiring intensive intervention.
The organizing committee also plans to coordinate with the Hanoi Department of Health and satellite hospitals to ensure the ability to transport and receive patients at the nearest hospitals in emergency situations.
Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Van Giap - Deputy Director of the Hospital said, "Bach Mai Hospital has surveyed and established a network of checkpoints and points to be able to quickly access athletes with health problems during the race, thereby handling incidents in the fastest, most effective way, in accordance with regulations.
Because for athletes when health problems occur, time is measured in minutes and seconds. Therefore, if we do the right thing from the beginning, we will bring health and even save the lives of athletes."

Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Van Giap also shared, “We thank the organizer – DHA Vietnam Company for trusting and choosing Bach Mai Hospital as our medical partner. This is not only a race but also an opportunity for us to promote a peaceful, safe, and more importantly, a friendly Vietnam with a medical system that meets international standards.”
Up to now, the Standard Chartered Marathon Heritage Hanoi 2025 has completed all preparations to welcome athletes on the official running day on November 8-9.
In particular, the 2025 season welcomes a surge in the number of international athletes reaching 2,500 international athletes from nearly 70 countries, nearly double that of the 2024 season.
These impressive numbers show the stature of Standard Chartered Marathon Heritage Hanoi 2025, the race with the largest number of international athletes, Full and Half marathon athletes in Vietnam, affirming the strong attraction, as well as the opportunity to reach international level and standardization of Vietnam Marathon.
Last year’s tournament attracted 18,000 runners. This year’s tournament is expected to also attract a large number of participants from the Vietnamese running community.
