Messages from the running steps

Running is not only a sport chosen by many for exercise and health protection, but it is also a great way to convey meaningful messages.

The largest running event ever held in Dak Lak - “Buon Ma Thuot Half Marathon 2025 - 50 Years of the Epic of the Central Highlands” - organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with Dak Lak 2-9 Import-Export Company Limited, attracted 3,000 athletes from 35 provinces, cities and international participants.

The event was attended by renowned runners from across the country such as: Hoang Van Hon, Ly Van Thu, Ly Van Thieu, Nguyen Thi Duyen, Tran Thi Ny, and the "extraordinary" Vietnamese runner Nguyen Van Long…

Attending the tournament held in the beautiful and hospitable city of Buon Ma Thuot, the athletes demonstrated a noble gesture by contributing funds to help the Organizing Committee donate 300 million VND to support Dak Lak province in implementing the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses.

Previously, the organizing committee had announced and invited all professional and amateur athletes nationwide to register and participate. The event, with its humanitarian significance and the spread of the spirit of mutual support and responsibility towards the community, was enthusiastically received, and the number of registered athletes reached a record high, exceeding expectations and surprising even the organizing committee.

Athletes participating in the meaningful event "Buon Ma Thuot Half Marathon 2025 - 50 Years of the Epic of the Central Highlands" contributed funds to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province.

The atmosphere of the event was truly special, filled with laughter, where those who conquered the 5km, 10km, and 21km routes not only triumphed and overcame their own limits but also contributed to building sturdy homes, bringing joy to families facing housing difficulties in the area.

Previously, a similar charity run called "Thien Hanh Family Run," aimed at raising funds to build houses for impoverished families, attracted over 500 participants. This meaningful event, combining health and charity, raised over 85 million VND to build a house for Mrs. Nguyen Thi Bon (residing in Tan An ward, Buon Ma Thuot city), helping her to settle down and stabilize her life.

One of the other meaningful activities that the Dak Lak running community strives to maintain and regularly organizes on weekends in Buon Ma Thuot City is the "Green Journey - Spreading Love" program. This event is special because there is no finish line, no winner; athletes of all ages run along some of the main streets of the city center while collecting trash, plastic bags, and plastic bottles. With the message "live green, live healthy, live responsibly towards the community," these small but practical actions have contributed to raising community awareness about the importance of protecting the environment and working together to reduce pollution, especially plastic waste.

Speaking of meaningful activities within the running community, one cannot overlook the activities of the Dak Lak Provincial Running Association. Along with improving their health and training together, the running community in Dak Lak actively participates in voluntary blood donation, sharing their blood with the spirit of "every drop of blood given saves a life." Familiar faces, who regularly donate blood twice a year in the Dak Lak running community, such as Phan Van Lanh, Tran Thi Phuong Mai, Dang Thi Hoa, Hoang Anh Tu, To Viet Vinh, and Cu Le Nguyen, have become familiar faces at voluntary blood donation events. Furthermore, members of the Dak Lak Provincial Running Association, such as Pham Van Vuong Quoc (Yok Don National Park), have even registered to donate tissues and organs with the simple thought, "giving is forever," and "when you know how to give, you will receive."

Certainly, such runs will always carry a sense of enthusiasm, not just for oneself, but also for feelings and responsibilities directed towards the community. Through various actions and forms of sharing, along with unique messages, a positive community will be created, becoming increasingly close-knit and loving.
