Possessing numerous strategic advantages in transportation infrastructure, industry, logistics, and urban development, Dong Nai is well-positioned to attract investment resources and become one of the major growth poles of the Southeast region. Therefore, Dong Nai is striving to strongly attract investment in areas such as high-tech industries; urban development and services; and becoming a center for ecotourism … through preferential policies, a transparent environment, and favorable infrastructure.

A destination for high-quality FDI capital.

In 2025 and the first few months of 2026, Dong Nai demonstrated its appeal as a dynamic young city, ranking among the top localities in the country in attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) projects. According to FDI investors, Dong Nai's strong appeal stems from its strategic location and comprehensive transportation infrastructure, encompassing all five modes of transport: air, road, rail, inland waterways, and maritime. The synchronized transportation infrastructure, along with the availability of land for industrial development and the expansion of development opportunities, has helped Dong Nai attract high-quality projects to its industrial parks. These investment projects enhance Dong Nai's position and image on the investment map, affirming its stable, transparent investment environment and its commitment to sustainable development in the city's development strategy.

Mr. Pham Viet Phuong, Deputy Head of the Management Board of Industrial Parks and Economic Zones of Dong Nai City, said: Dong Nai has the largest industrial scale in the country with 89 planned industrial parks. The presence of large and reputable investors creates a positive ripple effect, contributing to attracting more multinational corporations and businesses in the supply chain, thereby forming a modern industrial ecosystem. In the long term, high-quality projects will increase the added value of the economy, promote the shift in labor structure towards quality, increase income for workers, and create a foundation for Dong Nai to continue being an attractive and highly competitive destination for investment.

Commenting on Dong Nai's investment environment for FDI businesses, the Consul General of South Korea in Ho Chi Minh City, Jung Jung Tae, stated: The new Dong Nai City will have more attractive investment mechanisms to create a professional and modern investment and business environment. Dong Nai City will be an important growth pole of Vietnam, a crucial link in regional development, creating a modern and sustainable logistics ecosystem, and deeply participating in the global supply chain. Mr. Jung Jung Tae expects that Dong Nai's investment environment will continue to improve to become even more attractive to investors. At that time, Dong Nai City will strongly attract investment capital from domestic and international businesses, especially Korean businesses.

Overcome bottlenecks, unlock all resources.

The Resolution of the First Congress of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee (now Dong Nai City Party Committee), term 2025-2030, identified eight key tasks for the coming period, including the task of implementing comprehensive solutions to realize two driving forces: industrial development with the core being attracting strategic, new-generation investors, filling existing industrial parks and continuing to attract investment to potential industrial parks, prioritizing high-tech industries, green industries, and supporting industries; and service development with the Long Thanh International Airport integrated service city as the core, including a free trade center and an ecosystem of aviation, logistics, trade, and tourism services.

Accordingly, the city will focus on overcoming bottlenecks, unlocking all resources, and ensuring stability and sustainable development. It will maximize the spillover effects of Long Thanh International Airport on infrastructure investment, transportation connectivity, urban development, and increased economic value. It will develop industries towards high technology and environmental friendliness; restructure agriculture in conjunction with building new and modern rural areas; and expand modern service sectors, especially logistics, trade, tourism, and finance.

Dong Nai City strives to achieve an average annual GRDP growth rate of 10-12% during the 2025-2030 period. By 2030, the city's total gross regional product (GRDP at current prices) is expected to exceed 1.2 trillion VND; GRDP per capita will reach over 250 million VND; the industrial and construction sectors will account for 60-64%; trade and services 25-28%; the digital economy's share of GRDP will exceed 30%; and the average annual growth rate of state budget revenue in the city will reach 10-12%.

Along with key tasks, the resolution identifies three breakthrough areas for the coming period. Firstly, improving the quality of the cadre, especially key cadres at all levels, ensuring they possess strong political acumen, sufficient qualities, capabilities, high levels of action, and a strong desire to contribute, along with prestige commensurate with their responsibilities; developing high-quality human resources in the fields of high-tech industry, logistics, education, healthcare, science, technology, and digital transformation. Secondly, mobilizing, allocating, and effectively utilizing all resources, focusing on developing a diverse, synchronous, and modern transportation infrastructure system connecting urban areas, regions, and inter-regions; and developing economic and technical infrastructure (including logistics infrastructure, border economic zone infrastructure, green and ecological industrial park infrastructure, and achieving carbon emission reduction targets...). Promoting the development of urban infrastructure, technological infrastructure, digital infrastructure, and social infrastructure (healthcare, education, etc.) in conjunction with the orientation of underground space planning and smart public transportation. Thirdly, developing science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation. The city will accelerate administrative reform; build a professional, modern, effective, and efficient administration that serves the people and businesses, linked to the development of digital government, digital economy, and digital society.

Speaking at a meeting with outstanding businesses in the city, the Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Nai City, Nguyen Van Ut, affirmed: Dong Nai City is focusing on accelerating administrative procedure reform, improving the investment and business environment, developing a comprehensive system of transportation infrastructure, logistics, and industrial parks, promoting digital transformation, innovation, developing a green economy and circular economy, improving the quality of human resources, and creating a foundation for sustainable development. With a consistent viewpoint that businesses are the center, the driving force, and the important subject in economic development, the city is committed to continuing to build a proactive, honest, and service-oriented government, actively listening to and promptly resolving difficulties and obstacles faced by businesses, creating the most stable, transparent, and favorable investment environment so that businesses can confidently produce, conduct business, and invest long-term in Dong Nai.
