Speaking to CNBC on June 3, Netanyahu reiterated President Trump's earlier statement that Washington is ready to return to military action if necessary. When asked whether the current ceasefire remains in effect after the latest attacks, the Israeli Prime Minister stated that Iran understands the US position. Netanyahu emphasized: “ Iran certainly knows what the US President has said, that if necessary there will be a full return to military operations .”
The Israeli leader said the final decision rests with President Trump, but affirmed that both Israel and the US are prepared for any escalation scenario. He said, “ Israel is ready, and US forces are ready. Iran needs to take that into account. I think they are considering it, but they are clearly playing with fire .”
These statements were made following an attack on Kuwait International Airport that killed one Indian citizen and injured 63 others. This is considered the first deadly attack in the Gulf region since the ceasefire between the parties came into effect on April 8.
The incident forced Kuwait Airport to temporarily suspend operations and increased pressure on the ceasefire agreement, which has largely remained in place despite occasional clashes.

On the same day, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps denied any involvement, claiming the incident was the result of a malfunction in the US Patriot air defense system while intercepting Iranian missiles.
However, the US military stated that the information was inaccurate and asserted that Iranian drones had deliberately targeted the airport.

Earlier, Iranian media reported that the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) had attacked the headquarters of the US Navy's 5th Fleet in Bahrain, a US air base, and a container ship identified as MSC Panaya. However, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) denied the attacks on its bases, stating that Iranian ballistic missiles did not hit their targets in the area.
CENTCOM also said it conducted a new round of “defensive airstrikes” in southern Iran, targeting Iranian missile launchers and vessels suspected of attempting to lay mines. In addition, U.S. forces carried out airstrikes on Qeshm Island, near the Strait of Hormuz, following alleged Iranian attacks on U.S. forces in the region.
