In Hai Duong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited farmers and drove a rice transplanter in the fields on his first day back at work after the Lunar New Year holiday.
Joining the Prime Minister in driving a rice transplanter in Hung Long commune, Ninh Giang district on the afternoon of February 15th (the 6th day of the Lunar New Year of the Dragon) were Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan and Secretary of the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee Tran Duc Thang.
Earlier, government leaders visited the tray seedling production area and the field sown using machinery; they listened to a report from the leaders of Hai Duong province on the production situation and the application of mechanization in sowing and planting, and the model of applying high-tech agriculture in rice production.

Later that afternoon, the Prime Minister visited the concentrated carrot production area for export; visited the Duc Chinh cooperative, a carrot processing and packaging facility, and cut the ribbon to celebrate the first carrot export shipment of the spring in Duc Chinh commune, Cam Giang district.
In 2023, Vietnam's agricultural sector grew by 3.83%, the highest in recent years, continuing to affirm its role as a pillar of the economy. National rice production alone reached 43.5 million tons, an increase of 1.9%, with a yield of 61 quintals/hectare.

Vietnam's agricultural exports reached $53 billion, with an all-time trade surplus of $12 billion. Several export items saw record increases, including fruits and vegetables at $5.69 billion, rice at $4.78 billion, and cashew nuts at $3.63 billion. ST25 rice won the world's best-tasting rice award for the second time.
