Innovation is one of the three main pillars mentioned in Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024, of the Politburo on breakthroughs in the development of science and technology, innovation, and national digital transformation.

Dong Nai has been expanding many programs and activities to promote innovation in the locality, creating a foundation for sustainable socio -economic development.

At the Conference on Guiding the Development of Science and Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation Budgeting Plans and Estimates for 2026, organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology at the end of July 2025, Nguyen Mai Duong, Director of the Innovation Department (Ministry of Science and Technology), shared that innovation activities include the application and transfer of technology; innovation based on technological innovation, technological creativity, and improving technological efficiency; innovative startups; providing science and technology and innovation services; technical innovation, knowledge creation, and other related activities…

It is expected that at the end of September 2025, Dong Nai will organize the Dong Nai Province Science and Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation Festival 2025 with the theme "Creative Runway, Dong Nai Takes Off".

According to Vo Hoang Khai, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology, the festival will implement many practical activities to celebrate the National Innovation Day (October 1st), the National Digital Transformation Day (October 10th), and especially to welcome the Congress of Delegates of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term. Highlights of the festival include: a science and technology exhibition; a series of workshops and conferences on the implementation of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW; workshops on science and technology, digital transformation, and innovation; and a conference to connect and attract investment for startup projects…

The main content of innovation activities includes supporting businesses in applying technology, transferring technology, and innovating technology; improving technological efficiency and supporting the commercialization of new or improved products, goods, and business processes; introducing new technologies into production (technological innovation); providing interest rate subsidies for loans from credit institutions; supporting innovation activities, creative startups, innovation systems, startup ecosystems, promoting a culture of innovation and creative entrepreneurship, etc.

In Dong Nai province, regarding the field of innovation, the province has implemented many activities to improve and enhance the local innovation index, developed and implemented the plan "Supporting the innovation startup ecosystem in Dong Nai province in 2025"; and developed innovative startup businesses in the province... As of July 2025, the province has 88 innovative startup businesses.

Chairman of the Southern Startup Advisory and Support Council (Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry - VCCI) Huynh Thanh Van emphasized: In recent times, the startup movement has developed strongly in localities, including Dong Nai. The province, together with the council, has implemented many practical activities on startup consulting, innovation, business skills training, and startup knowledge, thereby promoting the development of startup models in the locality… In the future, the province needs more policies to support innovative startup businesses, thereby contributing to the effective implementation of Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW dated May 4, 2025, of the Politburo on the development of the private economy in the province.

Enhance networking activities.

According to many experts, Dong Nai has a strategically important location, situated close to Ho Chi Minh City. The province possesses a developed industrial system, coupled with the impetus from the soon-to-be-completed and operational Long Thanh International Airport… Therefore, Dong Nai has many potentials and advantages to promote the development of the innovation sector.

Le Anh Tien, CEO of Vietnam Chatbot Technology Joint Stock Company, shared: To build and promote the startup and innovation ecosystem, Dong Nai needs to continue improving its connectivity and logistics infrastructure, focus on developing high-quality local human resources, and build a comprehensive support ecosystem for innovative and creative startup businesses. At the same time, it needs to develop value chains linking the local key industries, focusing on developing areas such as logistics and supply chains, high-tech agriculture, and establishing and developing incubators and centers for startups and innovation…

In addition, startups and innovative businesses in Dong Nai need to proactively seize opportunities and focus on accessing information and policies on science and technology development and innovation; clearly identify key industries and sectors to invest in developing internal capabilities and brand; and seek and utilize suitable strategic partnerships…

According to Do Quang Trung, Head of the Vietnam Internet Center branch in Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai is one of the localities with outstanding potential and advantages for developing internet resources and digital technology platforms. Therefore, the province needs to strengthen the management and development of digital resources in the area, including supporting people, businesses, and households to have a reliable and secure online presence with digital services using the national “.vn” domain. The “.vn” domain is not only a technical tool but also a strategic internet resource that contributes to enhancing the local digital capacity, promoting e-commerce, digital transformation, and innovation. This will contribute to the sustainable development of Dong Nai in the future.

During a working session with leaders and key officials of the Department of Science and Technology in July 2025, Standing Committee member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Truong Son emphasized: The Department of Science and Technology needs to review and focus on implementing tasks and objectives in the remaining months of the year, especially those related to the implementation of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW in the province. Specifically, it is necessary to select pilot projects and develop outstanding innovation models and enterprises, linking businesses and schools to promote innovation development and the startup ecosystem in the province…
