(HG) - In recent days, the prices of freshwater seafood have remained stable compared to last month, but demand is quite high. Accordingly, at some markets in Vi Thuy district and Vi Thanh city, the prices of freshwater seafood have not fluctuated much, despite continuous rain and rising floodwaters, which have not significantly affected the selling prices.

Prices for freshwater aquatic products are stable and in high demand.
Specifically, the selling price of tilapia ranges from 30,000-80,000 VND/kg, snakehead fish from 100,000-180,000 VND/kg, depending on the type; while the price of yellow catfish, shrimp, frogs, and eels ranges from 80,000-230,000 VND/kg, depending on size. Ms. Nguyen Thi Ly, a small trader at Vi Thanh rural market, said: “At this time, people's purchasing power is quite high; my stall is usually sold out by around 10 am. People mainly buy wild tilapia and snakehead fish, and few are willing to buy farmed fish. However, I think that in the next few months, when people in the province harvest the autumn-winter rice crop and drain canals and ponds, the price of some types of wild fish may decrease slightly.”
