Over 30 years of construction and development, the Hanoi Ethnic Boarding High School has successfully achieved its educational goals in each stage, making a positive contribution to training human resources for ethnic minority and mountainous areas of Hanoi.
On December 1st, Hanoi Ethnic Boarding High School held a rally to celebrate its 30th anniversary.
Attending and speaking at the ceremony, Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, Tran The Cuong, shared: Over the past 30 years, Hanoi Ethnic Boarding High School has done a good job of nurturing and caring for boarding students; implementing correctly, fully, and promptly the policies and regulations for teachers, staff, and students in ethnic minority and mountainous areas; ensuring school security and safety; building a healthy and friendly educational environment; preventing school violence; and building a happy school. The Hanoi Department of Education and Training acknowledges, commends, and congratulates the achievements that the teachers and students of the school have achieved over the past 30 years.

According to Director Tran The Cuong, for millennia, the Vietnamese people have had a tradition of respecting teachers and remembering those who planted the tree from which they eat the fruit. "In this commemoration ceremony, I would like to express my appreciation and gratitude for the valuable contributions and dedication of the school's teachers who have silently and persistently devoted themselves to the cause of educating the people of the capital and the country," Mr. Cuong said.
Mr. Cuong also shared with the school the difficulties and concerns that teachers face in their profession. These include the fact that education is always under pressure and expectations from society as a whole, from parents and students, especially in the capital city, where the pressure is many times greater than in other places. Furthermore, teachers' incomes are not commensurate with their efforts, particularly for teachers in suburban districts and those in ethnic minority boarding schools. Only those who are truly dedicated and passionate about their profession can remain committed to teaching at this school. Here, the students are from ethnic minority groups; they study and live in boarding facilities. The school's teaching methods also have unique characteristics, different from other schools.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Long, Principal of Hanoi Ethnic Boarding High School, said: Hanoi Ethnic Boarding High School, formerly known as Ba Vi District Ethnic Boarding Secondary School, was established in 1994. In its first academic year, the school had 16 staff members, teachers, and employees, and enrolled 120 students in 3 classes. The teachers and students had to use the facilities of Ba Vi Vocational High School (now Ba Vi High School), and all equipment was extremely scarce. Despite these difficulties, with the attention and support of all levels and sectors, the aspiration to train a new generation for their homeland of each staff member, teacher, and employee, along with the dynamism, perceptiveness, flexibility, and creativity of the school's Board of Directors throughout the years, and the spirit of unity, effort, and continuous striving, the school gradually overcame difficulties, built infrastructure, strengthened the teaching staff, and improved the quality of teaching and learning.
After 30 years of construction and development, the school now has a spacious facility that meets the requirements for teaching, learning, and nurturing ethnic minority students in 13 mountainous communes of Hanoi.

Regarding academic performance, the percentage of students achieving "Good" and "Excellent" grades annually ranges from 70% to 75%. One student won a prize in the National Excellent Student Competition; 740 students won prizes in district and city-level excellent student competitions. The graduation rate for grade 9 is 99% or higher, and after graduation, 100% of students are admitted to grade 10 at the school.
The results of the 12th grade graduation exam are 98% or higher, with a 100% graduation rate for the past five consecutive years. Between 68% and 75% of high school graduates are admitted to universities, colleges, and vocational schools each year.
With its achievements, the school is honored and proud to have been awarded the Third-Class Labor Medal twice by the State in the academic years 2008-2009 and 2018-2019, and has received numerous Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister , the Minister of Education and Training, and Certificates of Merit and Emulation Flags from the Chairman of the People's Committee of the City...
