According to the Provincial Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, after more than 3 months of implementing the second round of vaccination in 2023, the vaccination campaign has now ended.
As a result, localities have vaccinated nearly 91,000 doses of foot-and-mouth disease vaccine for cattle and buffalo, reaching 83% of the total herd. For the cattle and buffalo erysipelas vaccine, the vaccination rate only reached 16% of the total herd, with about 17,300 doses of vaccine injected. Other vaccines such as lumpy skin disease have been injected into 68,307 cattle from the State-supported vaccine source, and people have bought and vaccinated 240 cattle themselves.
Avian influenza vaccine has been injected 302,500 doses, of which 2 localities with high risk of infection of this disease, Dong Hoa town and Phu Hoa district, received state support for vaccination of 263,500 dogs, the rest were self-purchased by people to vaccinate 39,000 dogs. Rabies vaccine has been injected to 17,750 dogs/30,034 dogs in the province, reaching a rate of 55%.
Currently, the Provincial Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine continues to coordinate with relevant agencies to strengthen animal quarantine and transportation through stations and checkpoints in the province; at the same time, check veterinary hygiene, control the purchase and sale of livestock and poultry, and livestock and poultry products, contributing to ensuring food safety and hygiene for consumers.
