The Provincial Military Command inspected the recruitment and conscription of citizens into the military in 2026.
In 2026, Thanh Hoa province is tasked with selecting and enlisting nearly 4,500 citizens into the army and police forces. This is the first recruitment season operating under a two-tiered local government model. Changes in organizational structure, scope of management, and command methods create new demands on quality, procedures, and approaches. With a proactive, coordinated, and innovative spirit, Thanh Hoa province is implementing many breakthrough solutions, determined to ensure that "every person recruited is a good fit," maintaining its position as one of the leading localities nationwide in the recruitment of citizens for military service.
The Provincial Military Command (PMC) directed the regional defense command boards (MPBs) to coordinate with the regional military conscription health examination councils to issue a plan for the examination and unify the examination process, assigning clear responsibilities to members and relevant agencies and units; and to organize examination teams in each cluster of communes. Accordingly, the entire province organized 18 military conscription health examination points. At each examination council in the area, the MPBs organized preliminary examination points to gain experience before organizing examinations at subsequent points. Thanh Hoa is the only province in Military Region 4 that proactively coordinated cross-examination between examination points, somewhat reducing discrepancies in examination results and receiving high praise from the Military Region 4 Staff.

Major General Vu Van Tung, Standing Committee Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial Military Service Council, and Commander of the Provincial Military Command, inspected the recruitment and conscription of citizens into the military in 2026 in Van Loc commune.
Furthermore, the military service councils at all levels have closely coordinated with departments, agencies, and organizations to promote the dissemination of the Military Service Law, raising awareness among young people and their families about the responsibility and honor of fulfilling their sacred duty to the Fatherland. Many innovative models such as "Youth Union members accompanying young people on their way to military service" and "Three-party family signing commitment to military recruitment" have spread the spirit of "Joining the army is an honor, training is a sacred duty." The work of supporting the military's rear areas has also been given attention, creating peace of mind for new recruits before their departure. Thanks to unified awareness and synchronized action, wards and communes throughout the province completed the preliminary health screening, identifying nearly 13,000 citizens eligible for medical examination at the regional councils; 1,693 young people volunteered to enlist. As a result, the number of young people eligible for military service in 2026 is 5,809.
To prepare for the conscription day, the handover ceremony was meticulously and systematically planned. In many localities, traditional gatherings, cultural exchanges, and thematic talks were organized before the handover day between new recruits and veterans. Stories about discipline, camaraderie, and years of training in the military environment further motivated the young people. Many families with revolutionary traditions expressed their pride in their children following in the footsteps of their fathers and brothers to defend the Fatherland. This warm and heartfelt atmosphere made the conscription day even more meaningful.
Major General Vu Van Tung, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial Military Service Council, and Commander of the Provincial Military Command, stated: “During the implementation process, the Provincial Military Command guided each stage, assigned officers to be in charge of each area, directly went to the grassroots level to assess the situation, resolve difficulties, and ensure that the recruitment work was implemented synchronously, smoothly, and effectively. With thorough preparation, a high sense of responsibility from officers and soldiers, and close coordination with the local authorities, Thanh Hoa is ready for the 2026 military recruitment ceremony.”

For every young person, the moment of receiving the conscription order and preparing to leave is a significant milestone in their life. It's not only a responsibility but also an opportunity to hone their character, willpower, and discipline; to learn and grow in a collective environment. With the spirit of "Wherever youth are needed, youth will be there; whatever is difficult, youth will overcome it," the youth of Thanh Hoa province are ready for the 2026 conscription day with enthusiasm and high determination.
To Chan Phong, a young man from Thang Tay village, Van Loc commune, said: "In the army, I will try my best to study, train, strive hard, strictly abide by military discipline, and complete all assigned tasks well, worthy of the trust and love of my family and hometown."
With thorough and comprehensive preparation from the provincial level to the grassroots at 9 locations where the troop handover and reception ceremonies will be held, it is believed that the 2026 conscription ceremony in Thanh Hoa will be solemn, and the new recruits will uphold the heroic traditions of their homeland, diligently study and train, and contribute to building a more regular, elite, and modern People's Army and People's Public Security force.
