Le Minh H., a 5th-grade student at Pham Phu Thu Primary School (Nong Son commune), lives with his elderly and frail maternal grandparents, along with his older sister, who is in 8th grade, in a difficult family situation, after his mother passed away early and his father abandoned him when he was just one year old.
Understanding that loss, for the past five years, Ms. Tran Thi Huong has regularly provided 500,000 VND each month to help the child attend school. In addition, Ms. Huong has also sponsored more than 40 other students from disadvantaged backgrounds, giving them the strength to overcome difficulties and pursue their dreams like their peers.
Always remembering the school where they were once affiliated and supporting the next generation's educational journey, the Alumni Association of Da Lat University established the "Continuing the Dream for Children" fund and awarded 46 scholarships (worth 101 million VND) to former students and students from disadvantaged backgrounds at Tran Phu High School (Viet An commune).
Teacher Nguyen Van A, Party Secretary and Principal of Tran Phu High School, shared that the students who received the gifts all come from unfortunate circumstances, but their common trait is their willpower and effort to overcome difficulties on their journey to acquire knowledge. Each scholarship not only contains material value but also carries profound humanitarian significance. Through this, it motivates the students to resolutely pursue their dreams and noble ideals.
Along with caring for, nurturing, and educating students on morality and lifestyle, the staff and teachers of Huong Sen Kindergarten (Nong Son commune) always carry out practical activities to share love with disadvantaged students. The school organized a "Children's Spring Festival" with a series of experiential activities including bamboo pole dancing, folk games, performances, a buffet, and decorating a Tet market stall.
Recently, the school also awarded 30 gifts to support orphaned children, those with illnesses, and those who are frequently sick. Ms. Truong Thi Bich Thuy, Acting Principal of Huong Sen Kindergarten, shared: "Through this event, students have a playground to experience real-life situations and develop skills. It also fosters connections between families, the school, and society, and creates a fund to share with less fortunate children."
In addition to connecting with philanthropists, Phan Thanh Primary School (Ban Thach ward) also launched the movements "You Are Not Alone," "Adopted by the Youth Union," and "Loving Piggy Bank," which were wholeheartedly supported by teachers, parents, and students. The school dedicates all the money collected from these funds to support students in difficult circumstances.

According to Ms. Dang Thi Ngai, the school's Vice Principal, understanding the unfortunate circumstances of these children—some orphaned, some without parents, and many other heartbreaking situations—the school always pays attention to sharing initiatives with the hope of alleviating some of the hardships they face in life and studies.
Recently, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nong Son commune distributed 129 gift packages to support students whose families were affected by flooding in the commune, totaling 64.5 million VND (from the Relief Fund's fundraising committee), and sponsored four orphaned children in the locality. In addition, they mobilized social resources to provide thousands of scholarships, along with warm clothing, bicycles, books, and school supplies for students.
Ms. Phan Thi Ngoc Dung, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nong Son commune, expressed: “Driven by the desire to bring joy and encouragement to students in mountainous areas with limited economic resources, we always connect with organizations and individuals to share the difficulties with them. These gifts will contribute to helping students stabilize their lives, focus on their studies, and strive for a better future.”
