Continue to innovate and develop Da Nang tourism

DNO - On the afternoon of October 14, the City People's Committee held a conference to evaluate tourism activities in Da Nang city in the past 9 months and deploy tasks for the last months of 2024 and 2025. Speaking at the conference, Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Quang acknowledged, commended and highly appreciated the efforts of the tourism industry and the close coordination with departments, branches and sectors in recent times.

The results of the number of visitors in the first 9 months are the figures that speak for that tireless effort and the hope that the tourism industry will continue to promote the results achieved. The Secretary of the City Party Committee highly appreciated the lessons that the tourism industry has learned, it is necessary to understand and apply these lessons to suit the reality of the city.

To achieve the set goals, the city's tourism industry needs to innovate its growth model; renew existing products; improve the quality of accommodation facilities, service activities, and events; and create new products.

The Secretary of the City Party Committee suggested the main contents such as city leaders and industry leaders must also innovate their approach, management methods, determination in implementing the tasks of the City Party Committee and People's Committee; set goals towards green tourism, build criteria for green tourism development; criteria on safety level for tourists coming to Da Nang ...

The City Party Secretary emphasized that the city commends local businesses for their efforts in renewing tourism products and that the city always accompanies businesses and the tourism industry to increase new tourism products; the combination of products between public investment and businesses will contribute to the overall development of the city.

The Party Executive Committee of the City People's Committee directs the resolution of unresolved issues, evaluates and responds to opinions and recommendations from businesses, and reports issues beyond its authority to the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee. The city, tourism industry, departments, and branches note that the organization of tourism activities in 2025 must be associated with important events of the city, attracting tourists; in addition to maintaining events that have been organized to become annual events, it is necessary to promote new events in all fields.

The Party Committee of the City People's Committee reported to the Standing Committee on the project of exploiting sea tourism to soon have opinions on this issue. To develop tourism, promoting digital transformation is decisive, so the Secretary of the City Party Committee noted that it is necessary to develop a project on digital transformation; innovate the approach to event communication.

Receiving the instructions of the City Party Secretary, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Chi Cuong said that basically, the industry has seriously and fully implemented the instructions of the city leaders. The goals set by the City Party Secretary are also the tasks and goals that the tourism industry must do in the coming time.

The City Party Committee Secretary’s guidance and orientations as well as the comments of businesses and city leaders will be absorbed and directed to be fully implemented in the coming time to promote the city’s tourism development; meeting the expectations of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, city leaders, the business community as well as the city’s people in the coming time.

The city also pays more attention to the issue of building and renewing products; ensuring the tourism environment, social environment, strengthening security and order, and preventing soliciting customers.

Director of the Department of Tourism Truong Thi Hong Hanh said that in the past 9 months, the total number of visitors is estimated at 8.67 million, an increase of 33% over the same period in 2023, equal to 163% of the same period in 2019. Of which, international visitors are estimated at more than 3.17 million, an increase of 30%, equal to 134% over the same period in 2019; domestic visitors are estimated at more than 5.49 million, an increase of 34%, equal to 186% over the same period in 2019. Revenue from accommodation, food and beverage, and travel in the first 9 months of 2024 is estimated at more than VND 26,000 billion, an increase of 26%, equal to 135% of the same period in 2019.

The city and businesses have also focused on investing in developing 11 unique product types to help attract and serve customers. The growth forecast for 2024 is that the total number of guests staying will strive to reach 10.3 million, an increase of 39% compared to 2023, of which international visitors are estimated at 4.2 million, an increase of 2.1 times, and domestic visitors are estimated at 6.1 million, an increase of 13%. Revenue from accommodation, food and beverage, and travel for the whole year is estimated at more than 38 trillion VND, an increase of 37% compared to 2023, equal to 178% compared to 2019.

In the fourth quarter of 2024, the city's tourism industry will implement 5 key tasks including: announcing the Da Nang Cultural Tourism Criteria; organizing events, festivals, and tourism products; implementing tourism communication and promotion; ensuring the tourism environment...

At the same time, carry out 8 key tasks in 2025 such as focusing on removing difficulties and obstacles to implement 3 breakthroughs to promote the city's tourism development; ensure the tourism environment; improve service quality and develop tourism human resources, aiming for "high quality" standard services; carry out digital transformation in tourism activities; cooperate to develop domestic and international tourism; support tourism businesses...
