It is necessary to solicit opinions and conduct surveys to come up with the optimal solution that is in line with the thoughts and aspirations of the people.

Mr. Hoang Van Tu, M.Sc., Director of Thanh Hoa Publishing House.
The policy of merging Dong Son district into Thanh Hoa city and establishing wards within Thanh Hoa city is a correct policy and an inevitable trend. It not only meets the requirements of the central government and contributes to the city's construction and development, but also aligns with the integration process and future aspirations of Thanh Hoa province.
The newly established city will have a vast urban space, befitting its status as the political , administrative, economic, cultural, social, and scientific and technological center of Thanh Hoa province. Not only will it become a smart, civilized, modern city with its own identity, but in the future, the new city will also play a central role in finance, commerce, tourism, science and technology, high-tech industries, healthcare, culture, sports, education, and training for the North Central and South Northern regions. Simultaneously, it will create a solid foundation for the province to realize the goal of making Thanh Hoa a new growth pole in the North of the country.
However, the name of the new city is a matter of particular public and public concern. In my personal opinion, both the name Thanh Hoa City and Dong Son City have historical and cultural value. However, to arrive at a final name, factors such as minimizing administrative disruption and ensuring widespread recognition in development, integration, and investment attraction must be considered.
Therefore, during the implementation process, it is necessary to disseminate information about the policy, objectives, and plan through various channels (public address systems, meetings, electronic portals, websites, etc.) so that the people understand clearly. At the same time, consult with experts and researchers, consider organizing referendums to gather opinions from voters and the public; conduct sociological surveys to arrive at the most optimal plan, one that aligns with the aspirations of the people in both localities and meets the requirements of integration and sustainable development.
