The book Doraemon: Nobita and the Castle Under the Sea will be released at the end of May, simultaneously with the new movie adaptation. Kim Dong Publishing House chose this release time as a gift to kick off the summer journey for young readers.
Doraemon and his friends Nobita, Shizuka, Jaian, and Suneo plan to go camping at the bottom of the sea. Thanks to their gadgets, the group can descend into the ocean, meet the world of deep-sea creatures, explore the seabed, and encounter the mysteries of the underwater world.
The deep ocean holds countless mysteries, such as continental shelves, continental slopes, trenches, deep-sea creatures, the Mariana Trench, and more. This scientific knowledge is conveyed in an easily understandable way through the group's experiential stories. The author skillfully encourages children to ask more questions, observe the world, and nurture their imagination and thirst for knowledge.
The book incorporates a message about friendship, especially in the final chapters, when Shizuka is in danger and Poseidon threatens the world. The group journeys together towards the demon castle, fighting, trusting, and protecting each other.
In this adventure, the group meets Buggy, a magical underwater creature. Initially, it's simply a machine operating on data and commands, but through its journey with Nobita and his friends, Buggy gradually comes into contact with very "human" things: memories, emotions, worries, gratitude, sacrifice, and friendship. Buggy becomes the main character of the story, a true friend to the group.
Doraemon: Nobita and the Castle Under the Sea remains a story about courage, friendship, and the message of upholding justice. The adventure and struggle to protect righteousness are what make the work so appealing.
