Following Feyenoord's 3-4 defeat to Sparta Rotterdam in the city derby on January 18th, Timber lost his temper and made harsh statements targeting manager Van Persie.

“I just read the pre-game statements and I’m really disappointed. This isn’t the first time the manager hasn’t defended a player. To me, things have gone too far,” Timber shared.

The conflict stemmed from manager Van Persie's decision to bench Timber, amidst rumors that the 23-year-old was about to leave the club. "Anyone who has worked with me at the club knows that I always fight for the team. To say that I don't try is nothing short of a charade," he emphasized.

The situation escalated when Timber bluntly challenged manager Van Persie to "talk to him directly," instead of making comments to the press.
