On social media platform X , Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman suggested that Apple might raise product prices sooner than many people anticipate.
"Regarding Apple raising prices, you have to imagine that the time is quite near. There's no reason to mention it at this point," Gurman shared.
Previously, CEO Tim Cook told the WSJ that Apple could no longer afford the rising cost of memory chips. Both components are scarce due to high demand from AI companies, which are investing heavily in data centers.
While the effectiveness of hundreds of billions of dollars remains debatable, the investment trend is causing supply chain problems for the global semiconductor industry. According to MacRumors , Cook even compared this phenomenon to a once-in-a-century flood.
"I haven't seen anything like this in any field in over 40 years," the Apple CEO emphasized.
In the interview, Cook did not specify a timeframe or the expected price increase. However, some rumors suggest the company may raise product prices as early as this month.
According to Gurman, the price increase is likely to coincide with Apple's "Back to School" promotion. Apple typically holds this event in June each year, where teachers or students receive discounts or gifts when purchasing iPads and Macs.
According to MacRumors , the promotion usually starts shortly after WWDC. In the last three years, it began 8-10 days after the conference's opening speech.
If Apple maintains its schedule, the "Back to School" program will take place this week, although it's unclear whether the company will adjust product prices at the same time.

The Bloomberg writer emphasized that the price increase "isn't something that will happen in the fall." In other words, Apple will raise product prices before the launch of the iPhone 18 Pro in September.
On June 20th, the Weibo account of leaker Ice Universe also shared similar information, predicting that Apple might increase product prices before September.
"I believe Apple may be preparing to release some of the demand through a back-to-school discount program, encouraging users who need to buy Macs and iPads before implementing a new pricing structure after the promotion," this leaker shared.
Currently, Apple's latest iPhone lineup includes the iPhone 17e (starting at $600 ), iPhone 17 ( $800 ), iPhone Air ( $1,000 ), iPhone 17 Pro ( $1,100 ), and iPhone 17 Pro Max ( $1,200 ).
Following confirmation from CEO Tim Cook, the Wall Street Journal published its own analysis, estimating that the starting price of the iPhone 18 Pro could reach $1,400 .
