After 2 days of urgent and responsible work, with the spirit of solidarity, democracy, innovation and creativity, the 10th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term 2024 - 2029, was a great success.
On the morning of October 17, in Hanoi , the 10th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) for the 2024-2029 term solemnly opened with the theme "Solidarity - Democracy - Innovation - Creativity - Development".
General Secretary and President To Lam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and leaders of the Party, State and Vietnam Fatherland Front attended the solemn opening session of the 10th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
Former General Secretary Nong Duc Manh attended the Congress.

Also attending the Congress were many leaders and former leaders of the Party, State and Fatherland Front.
With the theme "Solidarity - Democracy - Innovation - Creativity - Development", the Congress is tasked with comprehensively assessing the situation and results of implementing the Resolution of the 9th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term 2019 - 2024, and setting out the directions, goals and action programs of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in the new term.
Of the total 1,052 official delegates, there are 337 incumbent delegates, who are members of the 9th Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; 583 delegates elected by the provincial congresses and member organizations (91 delegates elected by member organizations at the central level and 492 delegates from localities elected by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Congresses of provinces and cities).
Regarding the structure of female delegates: 324 (30.7%); Non-Party delegates: 492 (46.7%); Ethnic minority delegates: 267 (25.3%); Religious delegates: 209 (19.9%); Overseas Vietnamese delegates: 21 (1.9%); Business delegates: 152 (14.4%); Full-time Front officials: 271 (25.7%).
On behalf of the Party and State leaders, General Secretary and President To Lam delivered a speech directing the Congress.
At the opening session, Politburo member, Party Central Committee Secretary, Chairman of the 9th Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien delivered an opening speech at the Congress.
Previously, on the morning of October 16, the delegation attending the 10th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term 2024-2029, led by comrade Do Van Chien, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, laid a wreath and visited President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum.

On the first working day (October 16), the Congress conducted consultations to elect a 55-member Presidium and a 5-member Congress Secretariat; and approved the Congress's Program and Working Regulations.
On October 16 and 17, the Congress discussed and considered many important contents such as: Report reviewing the activities of the Central Committee, the Presidium and the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, term IX, 2019 - 2024; Proposal to amend and supplement the Charter of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term IX; approval of amendments and supplements to the Front Charter...
On October 18, the closing session of the Congress was solemnly held at the National Convention Center. Politburo member, Party Central Committee Secretary, President of the 9th Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien and the Congress Presidium chaired the closing session.
Mr. Le Thanh Long, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister attended the closing session. At the closing session, the Congress heard the Government leaders inform about the situation and tasks of socio-economic development of the country, and the coordination between the Government and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
Previously, at the working session on the afternoon of October 17, the 10th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front approved the number of members of the 10th Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for the 2024-2029 term, including 405 members, the Presidium of 72 members, the Standing Committee of 6 members; and 8 non-professional Vice Chairmen.
Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the 9th Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Do Van Chien , and the Presidium of the Congress chaired the closing session. At the closing session of the 10th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term 2024 - 2029, the Presidium of the Congress reported the results of the 1st Conference of the 10th Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. Mr. Do Van Chien was trusted and elected by consultation to continue holding the position of Chairman of the 10th Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term 2024 - 2029.
The first conference of the 10th Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front democratically elected 67 members to join the Presidium of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee. The 5 vacant members will be filled during the term.
397 members of the Committee took a photo on the sidelines of the Congress. "We look forward to receiving the support and assistance of you, comrades, member organizations, and representatives of social classes and strata, and overseas Vietnamese, so that we can fulfill the important responsibility entrusted to us by the Congress," Chairman Do Van Chien emphasized at the closing session of the Congress.
