The i-Speed internet access speed measurement system, developed by the Vietnam Internet Center (VNNIC), has just updated the latest data on the internet quality situation in Vietnam for May.
Accordingly, the average mobile broadband internet download speed in Vietnam in May reached 42.11 Mbps, a slight increase compared to April (41.58 Mbps). The average mobile broadband internet upload speed reached 19 Mbps, higher than in April (18.28 Mbps).
With fixed broadband, the average nationwide download internet speed in May was 100.96 Mbps, down from April (106.43 Mbps). The average upload speed in May was 102.39 Mbps, a slight decrease from April (103.28 Mbps).

Since April 2024, the Ministry of Information and Communications has been publicly disclosing the service quality of Internet service providers in Vietnam.
Results recorded in May show that VNPT continues to be the leading mobile internet provider in terms of download speeds (45.82 Mbps).
With relatively close speeds, Viettel ranked second in mobile internet download speeds at 45.09 Mbps. Meanwhile, MobiFone and Vietnamobile had mobile internet download speeds of 29.47 Mbps and 7.74 Mbps respectively.
In the fixed broadband segment, May statistics show CMC Telecom is leading. Users of this provider had an average download internet speed of 318.52 Mbps in May, while the average upload speed was 210.92 Mbps.
The next positions in terms of fixed broadband internet download speeds in May were VNPT (99.74 Mbps), Viettel (98.17 Mbps), FPT Telecom (97.83 Mbps), SCTV (84.23 Mbps), Netnam (55.96 Mbps), and SPT (45.45 Mbps).

The Ministry of Information and Communications' release of data on Internet access speeds aims to enhance transparency, openness, and public benefit in service provision.
The published results also allow individuals/organizations/businesses to choose services and network providers according to their needs and actual conditions. This activity also improves the efficiency of management based on actual data, contributing to promoting the development and improving the quality of Internet access services in Vietnam.
The Telecommunications Authority recommends that individuals/organizations/businesses regularly use the i-Speed application to measure their internet access speed. Using the i-Speed testing application is completely free and does not incur any data charges.
