Tomiyasu left Arsenal.

On the afternoon of July 4, according to BBC , both Arsenal and Tomiyasu reached an agreement to terminate the contract early. Since joining Arsenal from Bologna in 2021, the defender has made 79 appearances and participated in important matches for the team.

A persistent knee injury has kept Tomiyasu out of the 2024/25 season. He only played 6 minutes for the Gunners. The Times even said that Tomiyasu could be out of action for the early part of the 2025/26 season.

Since moving to England, Tomiyasu has suffered a total of eight different injuries and has missed more than 456 days of action, a record number for any Arsenal player. Arsenal's medical team fear the Japanese international may never regain his previous fitness.

After terminating Tomiyasu's contract, Arsenal began looking for additional defense. One of the targets that the "Gunners" are aiming for is Valencia center-back Cristhian Mosquera.

In addition to Tomiyasu, Arsenal also said goodbye to left-back Kieran Tierney (to Celtic). The Emirates Stadium team's defense became even more fragile when Oleksandr Zinchenko could also leave the team this summer.

Rice's masterpiece helps Arsenal secure a ticket to the Champions League. In the 55th minute, Declan Rice neatly finished into the far corner, scoring the only goal to help Arsenal beat Newcastle 1-0 in round 37 of the Premier League, thereby securing a ticket to the Champions League.
