On the evening of March 7th, at the President Ho Chi Minh Monument Park, the 11th Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival, themed "Vietnamese Ao Dai - Reaching High for Vietnam," officially opened.

The event, taking place from March 1st to 9th, commemorates the 1985th anniversary of the Hai Ba Trung Uprising, the 115th anniversary of International Women's Day (March 8th, 1910 - March 8th, 2025), and the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and National Reunification (April 30th, 1975 - April 30th, 2025).

Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival 2025.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, emphasized the importance of preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values ​​of the Vietnamese ao dai.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City stated that this year's festival is a cultural and tourism event that kicks off a series of activities commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country. It also marks a significant transformation for the city, accompanying the rest of the nation into a new era.

The Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival 2025 will take place from March 1st to March 9th.

The festival also serves as a warm welcome to international friends, inviting them to a dynamic, modern city, full of inspiration, with generous, peace- loving people who are constantly striving for happiness.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, one of the highlights of this year's festival is the mass performance of traditional Vietnamese folk dances in ao dai (long dress) with the participation of more than 50,000 people, combined with a parade of traditional costumes, which took place on the morning of March 8th.

In addition, more than 40 guests, including famous figures from various fields, and over 60 ao dai designers from across the country participated.

The Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival space is located on Nguyen Hue Walking Street, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.

The event promises to bring vibrant colors to the city, a blend of traditional costumes bearing the hallmarks of various dynasties and the graceful ao dai, a symbol of Vietnamese identity.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, the Ao Dai Festival not only honors the beauty of traditional attire but also contributes to connecting generations, spreading national cultural values, and promoting economic and social development, especially in the fields of tourism and fashion.

The Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival 2025 will take place from March 1st to March 9th, with main activities including a mass Ao Dai performance on March 8th with the participation of approximately 3,000 people on Nguyen Hue pedestrian street and over 50,000 people at various locations in 21 districts and Thu Duc City.

The program features an ao dai (traditional Vietnamese dress) art performance with the participation of talented designers; and the Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Beauty Contest for groups will be held on March 9th.

The competition includes a drawing contest on traditional Vietnamese dresses (áo dài) and an online photo contest featuring beautiful áo dài dresses in 2025 with the theme "Áo dài with historical relics of April 30th."

On the evening of March 9th, the final round of the Ho Chi Minh City Elegant Ao Dai Contest was held at the President Ho Chi Minh Monument Park and Nguyen Hue pedestrian street.
