Tottenham have made a decisive decision. Igor Tudor has become interim manager until the end of the season, replacing Thomas Frank, who was sacked after the 1-2 defeat against Newcastle on February 11th.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano and The Independent , the Croatian manager has accepted the challenge amidst Spurs' struggles in the Premier League.
The London club currently sits 16th, just five points above the relegation zone. Their poor run of form, with only two wins in 17 Premier League matches, has led to a loss of patience from the club's management, despite a more positive Champions League record where Spurs reached the Round of 16 in fourth place during the League Phase.
Tudor is no stranger to top-level competition. The former Croatian center-back previously managed Juventus, helping them finish in the top four of Serie A and qualify for the Champions League.
However, he was sacked in October after a run of eight winless matches, including four games where Juventus failed to score. Prior to that, Tudor had also managed several clubs such as Lazio, Marseille, Udinese, Hellas Verona, Hajduk Split, Galatasaray, PAOK, and Kardemir Karabukspor.
Tottenham opted for a temporary solution before appointing a permanent manager in the summer. Their next match is on February 22nd against Arsenal, the Premier League leaders and their city rivals. That will be an immediate test for Tudor.
In the long term, Roberto De Zerbi and Mauricio Pochettino are mentioned as potential candidates. Pochettino currently manages the US national team and will complete the 2026 World Cup campaign before making a decision about his future.
At this sensitive time, Tottenham needed stability more than promises. Tudor was given a clear task: to keep Spurs in the Premier League before the club embarked on a major rebuilding phase in the summer.
