Spurs beat rivals Manchester United to bring the Portuguese midfielder back to English football.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Bayern Munich has given the green light for this deal.

Previously, MU had approached Palhinha several times, but the former Fulham player always stated that he wanted to stay at Bayern.

Tottenham recently managed to convince the 30-year-old player to return to London to play football.

Tottenham's participation in the 2025/26 Champions League, as well as their attractive project, were factors that led to Palhinha's agreement.

Spurs have reached an agreement to loan Palhinha with a buy-back clause of €30 million – but not mandatory.

Instead, the club owned by the president had to pay Palhinha's entire salary instead of Bayern Munich.

Under his contract with the reigning Bundesliga champions, Palhinha earns €10 million per year (equivalent to £166,600 per week).

Palhinha will travel to London for a medical examination and to sign a formal contract with Tottenham.

Thus, after beating MU in the Europa League final, Spurs once again surpassed the Red Devils in the transfer market.

The signing of Palhinha is also a strong statement from Tottenham about their ambition to compete for a high position in the Premier League.
