Ho Chi Minh City announces tuition fees for the first semester at public schools.

Preschool children in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, participate in a nutrition day organized by the District 1 Department of Education and Training at the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year.

The tuition fee will be the same as for the 2021-2022 school year.

Accordingly, the official document on tuition fees signed and issued by the Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Duong Anh Duc, clearly states: Based on Government Decree No. 81, the Ministry of Education and Training's Official Letter No. 5459 on the implementation of fees in the field of education and training for the 2023-2024 school year, and considering the proposal of the Department of Education and Training on the policy of organizing the collection of tuition fees for public education and training institutions and the specific policy of supporting tuition fees for preschool children and public primary and secondary school students..., the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee directs the unified policy of temporarily collecting tuition fees for the 2023-2024 school year of public education and training institutions in Ho Chi Minh City as proposed by the Department of Education and Training in Submission No. 6041/TTr-SGDĐT dated October 18, 2023, until the Government issues a Decree amending and supplementing some articles of Decree No. 81.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, with the approval of the proposal to temporarily collect tuition fees, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has agreed to allow public educational institutions to temporarily collect tuition fees for the first semester of the 2023-2024 school year at the same rate as the 2021-2022 school year.

Taxes are collected in two regional groups.

Specifically, tuition fees at public educational institutions are applied according to two regional groups: Group 1 includes students in schools in Thu Duc City and districts 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, Binh Thanh, Phu Nhuan, Go Vap, Tan Binh, Tan Phu, and Binh Tan. Group 2 includes students in schools in the districts of Binh Chanh, Hoc Mon, Cu Chi, Nha Be, and Can Gio.

At the same time, the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City assigned the Department of Education and Training to take the lead and coordinate with the Department of Finance and the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to implement and provide specific guidance to educational and training institutions to ensure compliance with regulations.

Regarding the specific policy to support tuition fees for preschool children, public and private primary and secondary school students, and continuing education students in the 2023-2024 school year, the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City assigns the Department of Education and Training to take the lead and coordinate with relevant departments and agencies to advise the People's Committee on proposing the drafting of a Resolution to be submitted to the City People's Council in accordance with the procedures for drafting legal documents.
