According to statistics from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, this year there are 99,578 candidates registered to take the 2025 high school graduation exam (an increase of 8,891 candidates compared to last year). Of these, 1,638 candidates will take the exam under the old curriculum (2006 high school curriculum) and 97,940 candidates will take the exam under the new curriculum (2018 high school curriculum).
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training has arranged 171 examination centers and mobilized more than 14,000 officials, teachers, and staff to participate in invigilation and support at the examination centers.

Also in this year's high school graduation exam, regarding elective subjects, foreign languages led in the number of registered candidates with 49,328 students (accounting for 50.37%), followed by physics with 43,176 candidates (44.08%) and chemistry with 27,796 candidates (28.38%). Natural science subjects were also chosen by many students with a total of 79,045 candidates.
To ensure security, the leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training stated that all high school graduation exam locations will have surveillance cameras installed to monitor the entire room where exam papers and answer sheets are stored.
Specifically, the surveillance cameras ensure coverage of all items containing exam papers and answer sheets in the room, as well as any actions that may affect those items; they store all data related to the process of storing exam papers and answer sheets at the examination site; and they operate continuously even during power outages.
In addition to surveillance equipment, there are police officers stationed in the room responsible for safeguarding exam papers and answer sheets. Police officers will work with the exam center's leadership to receive the exam papers, seal them, prepare the minutes, and be on duty in the room…
Similarly to the examination centers, at the high school graduation exam grading committee, the Department of Education and Training also installed surveillance cameras for a period of 20 days, starting from June 30th to July 20th, after the grading process is completed.
