The Ho Chi Minh City Talent Promotion Scholarship Award Ceremony for the 2024-2025 academic year took place on the morning of October 27th, coinciding with the Traditional Education Promotion Day.

The Talent Promotion Scholarship - 1&1 Scholarship has become a distinctive name for the scholarship program of the Ho Chi Minh City Association for the Promotion of Learning. This scholarship is awarded to students who overcome difficulties and excel academically, supporting them in overcoming challenges in life.

To date, the City's Talent Promotion Scholarship program has been running for 24 years, awarding scholarships to more than 2,700 students with a total amount exceeding 27.8 billion VND.

The Talent Encouragement Scholarship - 1&1 Scholarship also serves as a platform connecting previous generations, where scholarship recipients return to provide support to students in subsequent cohorts.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Dang said that he has been involved with the City's Education Promotion Association scholarship program for 19 years now.

Having previously received a scholarship, he understands that in life, there are times when one faces difficulties and receives help, and if given the opportunity, he will reciprocate by helping others, like a cycle. "My support is nothing compared to their entire lives. Hopefully, it's just a small drop of water to give them the motivation to stand firm in the initial challenges," Dang said.

Pham Quoc Cuong, a first-year student at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy who received this scholarship, said that his family currently only has his father as the main breadwinner, working as a car mechanic. Cuong's mother suffers from several underlying health conditions and is not in good health to work. Therefore, all the burden falls on his father, who is simultaneously supporting Cuong and his brother's education.

"This scholarship is very important to me. It helps me cover some of the costs of studying at university and reduces the burden on my father," shared student Pham Quoc Cuong.
