Earlier this year, Ho Chi Minh City issued conscription orders to nearly 4,200 citizens to fulfill their military service obligations, including 3 female citizens who volunteered to join the army.
On February 6th, the Ho Chi Minh City Military Service Council held its second meeting on calling citizens to enlist in the military, chaired by Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nam – Commander of the Ho Chi Minh City Command and Permanent Vice Chairman of the City's Military Service Council.

At the meeting, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nam stated that Ho Chi Minh City has over 4,100 citizens enlisting for military service this time, including 3 female citizens who volunteered to join the army.
Previously, at the first meeting of the Ho Chi Minh City Military Service Council, it directed districts, counties, and Ho Chi Minh City to implement various measures to inspect, correct, and supplement any missing information; finalize dossiers and lists for troop handover with receiving units; organize the issuance of orders; and monitor the movements and ideological situation of citizens up to the present time.
According to Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nam, the entire city had issued conscription orders to citizens before January 24th. Specifically, the city issued 4,197 conscription orders to citizens, including more than 4,000 official orders (4,000 male citizens and 3 female citizens). In terms of structure, 110 Party members received orders (reaching 2.75% of the target), including 97 official Party members.

Notably, among the more than 4,100 new recruits who are heading off to duty this year, there are 3 female citizens who volunteered to join the army. Sharing with us, young Party member Do Phuong Trang (born in 2001, a member of the Women's Union of Ward 4, District 5) said that because she has loved the uniform and image of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" since childhood, she has wanted to serve in the Army for a long time.
"I've loved the uniform and the image of the soldiers of Uncle Ho's army since I was a child and I've always wanted to serve in the military for a long time. During the months when the city was affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, the image of military officers and soldiers supporting and helping the people further motivated me to strive to become a female soldier," Trang shared emotionally.
The female soldier of "Uncle Ho's army" is proud to wear the green military uniform, and with her own determination, the encouragement of family, friends, agencies, and local authorities, she will overcome difficulties and successfully complete all tasks.

According to the plan, the "Military Training Camp" and "Military Enlistment Ceremony" of the districts, counties, and Thu Duc City will be conducted in accordance with military regulations. In 2025, the model military enlistment ceremony of Ho Chi Minh City will be held in District 7 and will be broadcast live on the morning of February 13th.
