Looking back at the end of 2025, when Typhoon No. 11 (MATMO) caused severe damage in many mountainous areas of Thai Nguyen province, the image of officers and soldiers wading through the rain and floods to help people move their belongings, clear roads, dredge canals, and rebuild houses left a deep impression on the people. Through these concrete and practical actions, the civilian mobilization work of the provincial armed forces continues to affirm its role as a strong bridge between the military and the people.

Officers and soldiers of the armed forces in Thai Nguyen province have always been at the forefront in supporting the people in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.

According to the Thai Nguyen Provincial Military Command, in the last six months of 2025 alone, armed forces units in the province mobilized more than 12,400 officers, soldiers, and union members to participate in civilian affairs work; contributing over 26,000 man-days to help people develop socio -economic conditions, overcome the consequences of natural disasters, and build new rural areas. Dozens of kilometers of rural roads and irrigation canals were cleared and repaired; many schools, cultural centers, and health stations were renovated and repaired.

In addition to providing labor support, the units also coordinated the organization of 62 legal awareness sessions, attracting more than 7,000 participants. The content focused on the Law on Military Service; the Law on Road Traffic; the Law on Drug Prevention and Control; the Law on Disaster Prevention and Control; and building a cultural life in residential areas.

Comrade Do Thi Minh Hoa, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee, affirmed: A highlight of mass mobilization work in recent times has been the increasingly close coordination between local Party committees and authorities with the armed forces and military units stationed in the area. Through mass mobilization activities, the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws are conveyed more concretely and closely to the people, especially in remote areas and ethnic minority regions. When cadres and soldiers eat, live, and work together with the people, the effectiveness of propaganda and mobilization is much higher. Especially now that regular troops have been deployed to the communes, the role of mass mobilization work will continue to be more effective and practical.

The armed forces of Thai Nguyen province actively support the local people in developing socio-economic conditions.

In reality, many effective "People's Mobilization" models have proven remarkably successful. Mobile propaganda teams, legal libraries, the "Military-Civilian Understanding the Law" model; activities such as "Zero-Cost Booths," free haircuts, medical examinations, and providing medicine to the poor have created a widespread impact in the community. In Bang Thanh commune, Thai Nguyen province – a place frequently supported by military units in repairing roads, dredging canals, and demolishing temporary and dilapidated houses – Mr. Thao Van Di, from Khuoi Man hamlet, emotionally shared: "Last year, the soldiers also came to help the people demolish dozens of temporary houses and repair the roads leading to the village… Whenever there is a difficult problem, the people always see the soldiers being the first to arrive. Through the propaganda sessions conducted by the officers, the people understand more about the law, about their responsibility to maintain security and order, and not listen to negative propaganda on social media."

According to Colonel Phan Quyet Thang, Deputy Political Commissar of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Military Command, mass mobilization work is not only a regular political task but also an important solution to strengthen national defense. The unit has determined that mass mobilization must be strongly directed towards the grassroots, focusing on difficult areas and places where ethnic minorities live. Every officer and soldier, when going to the grassroots, must truly be an active propagandist.

Along with the provincial armed forces, the main units of Military Region 1 stationed in the area also actively participate in civilian outreach activities. Division 346 is one of the units that has effectively maintained field exercises combined with civilian outreach work in remote and disadvantaged areas for many years. Colonel Dam Tien Dung, Political Commissar of Division 346, said: "The unit always emphasizes to its officers and soldiers the motto 'listen to what the people say, explain things so the people understand, and earn the people's trust.' Each field exercise not only helps people with labor and repairs but also combines legal education; prevention and control of social evils; and maintaining local security. This contributes to building a safe area and strengthening the people's trust."

Over the past period, the armed forces of Thai Nguyen province have implemented mass mobilization work with many specific and practical contents.

Based on the results achieved in phase 2 in 2025, the Thai Nguyen Provincial Military Command continues to develop a plan for coordinating mass mobilization work in phase 1 in 2026 with many specific and practical contents. According to the plan, in mid-July 2026, military units will organize field exercises in the communes of Quang Son, Thuong Quan, Tan Cuong, Than Sa, Ba Xuyen, Phuc Thuan, etc. A new feature in this year's plan is to focus more on disadvantaged communes after mergers, linking mass mobilization work with the implementation of national target programs on sustainable poverty reduction, new rural development, and strengthening the grassroots political system.

It can be affirmed that the mass mobilization work of the armed forces of Thai Nguyen province has been making practical contributions to improving the lives of the people, maintaining political stability, and strengthening national defense and security. More importantly, through concrete and compassionate actions, the image of Uncle Ho's soldiers continues to be deeply ingrained in the hearts of the people, becoming a pillar for building and protecting the homeland in the new situation.
