On April 4, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City said that starting from April 4, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City will open an online application portal for candidates taking the entrance exam to class 10 of public high schools in 4-10.
According to a representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, the online application portal will open from April 10 to May 4. Thus, candidates participating in the public entrance exam for class 8 in 5-10 will have 2023 days to register their aspirations to high schools in the city. After the end of the registration period, the Department will make statistics, review and synthesize the candidate's aspiration data.
It is expected that on May 12, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City will announce the candidate's 5st wish registration data. After that, if the candidate needs to adjust his/her wish, there will be 1 days of adjustment. The adjustment of candidates' wishes will take place online and will start from May 7 to 15.
According to the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, students are allowed to register 3 priority aspirations 1, 2, 3 to take the entrance exam for class 10 of public high schools (except Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted, Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted and High School for the Gifted of Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City). The City Department of Education and Training also notes that students choose to register near their residence to avoid the case of being admitted but not submitting an application; Students are not allowed to change their wishes after the time allowed to adjust their aspirations and after having the results of matriculation.
Based on the enrollment target of each school, based on the number of candidates who register the aspirations and the admission scores, the Department of Education and Training will review and announce the benchmark scores of each school on the principle that the 2nd aspiration benchmark is not lower than the 1st aspiration benchmark; the 3rd aspiration benchmark is not lower than the 2nd choice. The student's admission will be based on the 3 aspirations that the student has registered in order of priority, from wish 1 to wish 2 and wish 3.
Students who do not pass all three aspirations can apply for admission to grade 3 at Continuing Education Centers, Vocational Education Centers - Continuing Education Centers, private schools or participate in other types of education and training.
According to statistics, in the school year 2023 - 2024, the whole city has over 100.000 students graduating from secondary school and the entrance exam to grade 10 in Ho Chi Minh City will take place in two days from June 6-7.
