Ho Chi Minh City has two new Vice Chairmen of the People's Committee.

TPO - At a special session of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council, the delegates elected Mr. Duong Ngoc Hai, Chairman of the City Party Committee's Inspection Committee, and Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, President of the Ho Chi Minh City Federation of Labor, as Vice Chairpersons of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.

At the 15th session (special session) of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council, 10th term, 2021-2026, held on the morning of May 19th, the City People's Council carried out personnel work for key city officials.

Accordingly, the session proceeded to elect Mr. Duong Ngoc Hai, Chairman of the Inspection Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, and Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, President of the Ho Chi Minh City Federation of Labor, as Vice Chairpersons of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.

As a result, Mr. Duong Ngoc Hai and Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy were elected to the positions of Vice Chairpersons of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.

Also at the meeting, delegates elected Mr. Vo Ngoc Quoc Thuan, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Internal Affairs, as a member of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.

Mr. Duong Ngoc Hai was born in 1967 in Long An province and holds a Master's degree in Law and a Senior Certificate in Political Theory.

During his career, Mr. Duong Ngoc Hai made many contributions to the development of the procuracy sector in Ho Chi Minh City. He was a member of the City Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, and Chief Procurator of the People's Procuracy of Ho Chi Minh City from June 2016 to June 2019.

From July 2019 to June 2020, Mr. Hai served as Deputy Head of the Standing Committee (August 2019) and Head of the Internal Affairs Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee (from January 2020).

From July 2020 to the present, Mr. Duong Ngoc Hai has been a member of the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and Chairman of the City Party Committee's Inspection Committee. Currently, Mr. Hai is a member of the 15th National Assembly .

Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, born in 1977, is from Ho Chi Minh City. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics , a Master's degree in Party Building and State Administration, and a Senior Certificate in Political Theory.

During her career, Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy held various positions, including Secretary of the Tan Phu District Youth Union, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, and President of the Ho Chi Minh City Children's Council, before being assigned to the position of Deputy Secretary of the Go Vap District Party Committee and subsequently serving as Secretary of the Go Vap District Party Committee.

Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy was appointed as the Chairperson of the Ho Chi Minh City Federation of Labor from April 2018 to the present. Currently, Ms. Dieu Thuy is a member of the 15th National Assembly.

Also at this session, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council delegates voted to dismiss Mr. Duong Anh Duc and Mr. Ngo Minh Chau from their positions as Vice Chairmen of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.

Mr. Duong Anh Duc has just been transferred, assigned, and appointed by the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee as the Secretary of the District 1 Party Committee. Meanwhile, Mr. Ngo Minh Chau has been transferred and assigned by the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee as the Head of the Internal Affairs Committee of the City Party Committee.

Effectively implement Resolution No. 98 of the National Assembly.

In his action plan upon being elected as Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Mr. Duong Ngoc Hai pledged to work with the Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to focus on leading the effective implementation of the 2024 theme, effectively implementing Resolution No. 98 of the National Assembly; innovating, creating, and promoting digital transformation; accelerating administrative reform, improving the investment environment, and building an urban government.

In his role as a National Assembly representative and participant in the city's administration, Mr. Hai stated that he will maintain close contact with and listen to the concerns and aspirations of voters; truthfully reflect voters' recommendations to the National Assembly, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council, and relevant agencies; and coordinate and direct relevant departments and levels to resolve and respond to citizens' petitions, complaints, and denunciations in accordance with the law.

Implementing specific policy mechanisms for the development of Ho Chi Minh City.

Presenting her action plan upon being elected as Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy pledged to continue fulfilling her duties as a member of the 15th National Assembly and her action plan as a candidate for the National Assembly, maintaining close contact with voters and the people of the city.

With the expected assignment of responsibility for the socio-cultural sector, Ms. Thuy said she will focus on quickly understanding and grasping the implementation situation and progress of work in the assigned field; promoting and realizing specific policies and mechanisms to develop Ho Chi Minh City.

Focus on effectively implementing solutions to build an advanced culture rich in national identity; build a Ho Chi Minh cultural space; pay attention to directing grassroots cultural activities, consolidating and developing diverse forms of literature and art, physical education and sports...

In addition, Ms. Thuy also committed to effectively implementing 11 programs and projects under the Ho Chi Minh City Human Resource and Culture Development Breakthrough Program for the 2020-2025 term.
