With two rounds ending 70-68 and a total score of (-6), the golfer born in 1989 not only conquered the first title of the 2026 Emerald Cup series but also increased his number of victories at Emerald Country Club to 5.
Entering the final round tied for the lead with Sin Dong Min after the first 18 holes, Tran Le Duy Nhat quickly made a difference with his solid play and effective use of opportunities. He birdied holes 1, 4, 10, 12, and 15, before making his only mistake of the day with a bogey on hole 16, thus closing the decisive round with 68 strokes (-4) - also the best round of the tournament.
Meanwhile, Sin Dong Min failed to maintain his opening day performance and gradually lost ground in the championship race, opening the door for Duy Nhat to surge ahead in the lead.
Behind the champion, the competition for the top positions was also exciting. Lim In Hwan and Tran The Bao (Am) both finished the tournament with an Even par score, sharing second place overall. Tran The Bao's performance was particularly noteworthy, as he won the Best Amateur title, marking his second time receiving the award for best amateur athlete in the Emerald Cup series.
Following closely behind is Nguyen Van Quang in 4th place with a total score of (+1), while Nguyen Tuan Kiet, Nguyen Huu Quyet and Sin Dong Min finished the tournament in T5 with a score of (+2).
With his victory at the Emerald Cup 2026 - 1st Leg, Tran Le Duy Nhat received a prize of 130 million VND for the champion. Furthermore, he was awarded the Daily Best Score prize worth 10 million VND, a reward from the sponsor for the golfer with the best round of the day. Duy Nhat's final round score of 68 strokes was the best round throughout the two days of competition.
Sharing his thoughts after the victory, Tran Le Duy Nhat expressed his joy at conquering Emerald Country Club for the fifth time: “I am very happy to win this tournament for the fifth time. Although my putting hasn't been really good over the past two days, I also had a bit of luck in not making many mistakes in my shots from tee to green.”
Regular training at Emerald Country Club has also created a special bond between Duy Nhat and the court. He said: “This is a court where I train quite a lot, so it can be considered my home court. Every time a tournament is held here, I want to participate and always aim to compete for the championship.”
Winning the Emerald Cup 2026 - 1st Leg not only brought Tran Le Duy Nhat another title in the VGA Development Tour system, but also further affirmed his position as one of the most consistent and skilled professional golfers in Vietnam at the present time.
