The Buddha's Birthday celebration in the year 2567 (Gregorian calendar 2023) is an occasion for monks, nuns, and Buddhists in and outside of Hong Linh town ( Ha Tinh province) to reflect on the life and immeasurable merits of Shakyamuni Buddha.
A large number of people, monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers welcomed the grand ceremony.

The delegates performed a Buddhist ritual to pray for blessings.
Following the Buddhist prayer ceremony for blessings, the salute to the national flag and the Buddhist flag, and a minute of silent meditation in remembrance of President Ho Chi Minh , the heroic Vietnamese mothers, the heroic martyrs, and the venerable monks and nuns who have passed away throughout history, the entire congregation respectfully listened to the Buddha's Birthday message - Buddhist calendar 2567 - from the Acting Supreme Patriarch of the Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Venerable Thich Tri Quang; and the Buddha's Birthday address by Venerable Thich Thien Nhan - Chairman of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha.
The Provincial Religious Affairs Committee and the leaders of Hong Linh town presented flowers to offer congratulations.
The message emphasizes that this year's Buddha's Birthday celebration also marks the 60th anniversary of Bodhisattva Thich Quang Duc, the Supreme Patriarch who self-immolated to fight for national peace . His compassionate flame and immortal heart have the power to illuminate and awaken human conscience, dissolving all hatred, transcending all selfish individualism and extremist ideologies. He is a shining symbol of the compassion, wisdom, and courage of a present-day Bodhisattva and the engaged spirit of Vietnamese Buddhism.

Also at the ceremony, delegates, monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers performed the ritual of chanting to celebrate Buddha's birthday, the bathing of the Buddha statue, and prayed for peace in the country, well-being for all people, and the successful completion of Buddhist affairs.
