Presenting 2 orchestras to Khmer ethnic people

(CTO)- On June 18, 2025, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City organized the handover of 2 orchestras to the Association of Patriotic Monks and Nuns of Can Tho City.

In order to effectively implement the content of Project 6 "Preserving and promoting the fine traditional cultural values ​​of ethnic minorities associated with tourism development", the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the city has invested in 2 sets of musical instruments to support ethnic minorities who are Khmer in Can Tho city: including 1 percussion orchestra (Plêng Pưnpet - Five-tone orchestra) and 1 string orchestra (Plêng Kh'xe) with a budget of nearly 260 million VND from the cultural career budget. The Association of Solidarity of Monks and Monks of Can Tho city manages, operates, puts into operation, and maximizes the effectiveness of the 2 orchestras in serving the Khmer people in the city as well as implementing the right purpose and meaning of the national target program for socio -economic development of ethnic minority areas in the city.

The donation of 2 sets of traditional musical instruments has great significance for the Association of Patriotic Buddhist Monks in the city in general and the Khmer people in particular, contributing to the maintenance and preservation of traditional cultural values ​​of the Khmer people in their homeland of Can Tho .
