The veteran eye care program is a meaningful humanitarian activity, expressing gratitude and responsibility towards those who have dedicated themselves to the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.
Through the program, thousands of veterans will be screened, counseled and supported in the treatment of eye diseases, especially cataracts - the leading cause of blindness in the elderly.
Within the framework of the cooperation agreement, Sai Gon Tam Ky General Hospital will organize free eye screening twice a month to screen and provide medical consultation for veterans in Quang Nam province. The program also sets a target of screening at least 2,000 veterans and their relatives in the province by 2025.
At the signing ceremony, Sai Gon Tam Ky General Hospital presented a 200 million VND cataract surgery support package to the Quang Nam Province Veterans Association. The activity was carried out with the desire to help many veterans escape the risk of blindness caused by cataracts, regain healthy, bright eyes, and improve their quality of life.
Mr. Nguyen Tan Thanh - Chairman of the Quang Nam Province Veterans Association shared that the eye care program for veterans in Quang Nam Province by Saigon Tam Ky General Hospital shows the concern for veterans. This is an opportunity for the Quang Nam Province Veterans Association to approach eye care for its members.
“The Quang Nam Veterans Association currently has more than 37,000 members. The signing of the eye care program with Saigon Tam Ky General Hospital is not only the beginning of a meaningful program but also a connection between the two units in the journey of caring for community health, especially veterans. I hope that when the merger of Quang Nam and Da Nang is implemented, the program will still be maintained with specific information reaching members," said Mr. Thanh.
Representative of Saigon Tam Ky General Hospital, Ms. Dang Thi Kieu Hoa - Executive Director emphasized: "This cooperation is an important milestone in accompanying the eye care of veterans throughout the province, expressing the deep gratitude that Saigon Tam Ky General Hospital wants to give to the heroic forces who have contributed to the revolution".
Sai Gon Tam Ky General Hospital is a modern private medical facility in Quang Nam province, under the Saigon Medical Group. Formerly known as Tam Ky Pacific Hospital, the hospital was established in 2013 and officially joined the Saigon Medical Group in October 2020. The hospital has organized many community health care activities, especially for the elderly.
