Expanding the movement to protect the homeland among ethnic minority communities.

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - In order to promote the role of ethnic minorities in the cause of national construction and defense, for many years, Party committees, authorities, and mass organizations in Thanh Hoa province have done a good job of disseminating information to ethnic minority people on the implementation of the country's development guidelines and goals, and the policy of national unity in the new situation.

Expanding the movement to protect the homeland among ethnic minority communities.

Officers from the Trung Lý Border Guard Post instruct residents of Ta Com village on how to hang the national flag.

To help people in ethnic minority areas clearly identify the schemes, methods, tactics, and activities of hostile forces and reactionary elements who exploit ethnic, religious, democratic, and human rights issues to incite division and undermine national unity, local Party committees and authorities in border and mountainous areas, along with armed forces stationed in the region, have maintained and expanded the "All People Protect National Security" movement. In addition, Party committees and authorities have mobilized influential figures and village elders in the community to participate in the "Self-Management of Border Lines, Boundary Markers, and Border Security and Order" movement and model; effectively conducted two-way communication between Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front, and other organizations to understand the situation among the people; and effectively implemented the motto "the people know, the people discuss, the people do, the people inspect, the people supervise," contributing to stabilizing the situation and maintaining security and order.

Tam Lu commune (Quan Son district) has an 8km long border with Muong Pao cluster, Sam To district, Hua Phan province (Laos). The commune has 695 households with 3,318 people. Thoroughly understanding the Party's guidelines and viewpoints, and the State's policies and laws on national defense in the new situation, the Party committee, government, and mass organizations in the commune have coordinated with the police, military , and border guard forces stationed in the area to organize propaganda and mobilize the people to participate in building and protecting border sovereignty and security.

Comrade Lo Thi Du, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Tam Lu commune, said: Every year, the Standing Committee of the commune's Party Committee directs the Fatherland Front Committee, mass organizations in the commune, along with the police and border guards, to organize training sessions, thematic activities, and current affairs information to raise awareness and guide the people's thinking so that they understand and implement the Party's policies and the State's laws in the field of security and national defense. In addition, the commune regularly posts content on national defense and security on the commune's Zalo and Facebook pages; promotes the mass movement to protect border security and sovereignty through maintaining self-governing border and boundary marker groups and self-governing security and order groups in villages and hamlets... Through this, the stability of the border and boundary marker system and the security and order situation in the area are maintained.

In implementing Directive No. 01/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister "On organizing the nationwide movement to protect national territorial sovereignty and border security in the new situation," Party committees, government agencies, the Fatherland Front, departments, organizations, and armed forces in Thanh Hoa province have launched and extensively implemented the movement, with the motto of focusing on the grassroots, being close to the people, respecting the people, "listening to what the people say, speaking in a way the people understand, and acting in a way the people trust," "eating together, living together, working together, and speaking the ethnic language together,"... through various forms of propaganda and mobilization, suitable to the level, characteristics, and occupation of each target group, creating positive changes in the awareness and responsibility of cadres and Party members.

Through these activities, the people's feelings, trust, and responsibility towards the construction and protection of the national border have been fostered; thereby, the Party's policies and State laws on borders have been effectively implemented, and many models have been developed that attract widespread public participation, such as: the model of "People's participation in self-management of border lines and markers and maintaining security and order in border villages and hamlets", "Youth shock troops protecting the border", "Border infrastructure self-management teams", "Security and order self-management teams"... Currently, in the province, there is 1 collective, 54 households, and 104 individuals self-managing 213.6 km of border lines and 90 border markers; and 497 village-level security and order self-management teams with 1,625 members.

To ensure the nationwide movement to protect national sovereignty, territorial integrity, and border security develops extensively, effectively, and spreads throughout the community, all levels, sectors, and localities in the province, especially Party committees and authorities in border areas, have directed the integration of campaigns with local movements such as: "All citizens protect national security," "All citizens unite to build a cultured life in residential areas"; and models such as "Family clans self-managing security and order," "Villages free from crime and drug abuse," "Residential areas safe in terms of security and order," etc., contributing to building an increasingly solid all-people border defense posture, all-people national defense posture, and all-people security posture.

In addition, border guards have coordinated with the Fatherland Front Committee, provincial departments, agencies, and mass organizations, as well as local Party committees and authorities, to implement many movements, programs, and models to help border people develop socio-economic conditions and alleviate poverty. Typical examples include: the "Border Guards and Local People Working Together to Build New Rural Areas" movement, and the "Border Guards Joining Hands for the Poor - Leaving No One Behind" movement.
