| Police officers in Hung Yen province are taking statements from a suspect arrested in a cryptocurrency investment fraud case. |
The Provincial Police Investigation Agency has carried out arrests, urgent searches, and issued decisions to prosecute and arrest nine individuals residing in Hung Yen, Bac Ninh, Hanoi , and Hai Phong provinces for the crime of fraud and appropriation of property.
The investigation determined that the suspects used high technology to defraud victims of their assets through cryptocurrency investments, led by Nguyen Duy Thoai, born in 1995, residing in Phu Lien ward, Hai Phong city.

During the arrest and search, the Criminal Investigation Agency of Hung Yen Provincial Police seized: 2 cars; 22 smartphones; 8 high-configuration computer systems with internet connection; 116 phone SIM cards; over 200 million VND in cash; more than 2,000 pages of documents related to fraudulent activities involving the appropriation of assets through the "Toptrade1" trading platform; and many fake luxury rings, watches, and car keys used to deceive investors; simultaneously, they froze 22 bank accounts belonging to the suspects.
Currently, the Criminal Investigation Agency of the Hung Yen Provincial Police is continuing to expand the investigation and apprehend other individuals involved in the network.
