Dismantling a high-tech ring to defraud cryptocurrency investments

The Criminal Police Department of Hung Yen Province Police has just successfully dismantled a case using high technology to defraud and appropriate assets in the form of virtual currency investment, with a scale of more than 2,600 billion VND.

Police officers of Hung Yen province take statements from suspects arrested in a virtual currency investment fraud case.

The provincial police investigation agency has arrested, urgently searched and issued a decision to prosecute and issue an arrest warrant for 9 subjects with permanent residence in Hung Yen, Bac Ninh provinces, Hanoi city, Hai Phong city... for the crime of Fraudulent appropriation of property.

The investigation determined: The subjects used high technology to defraud and appropriate the victims' assets in the form of virtual currency investment, led by Nguyen Duy Thoai, born in 1995, residing in Phu Lien ward, Hai Phong city.

The subjects were arrested in a case of fraud and appropriation of property in the form of virtual currency investment.

During the arrest and search, the Investigation Police Agency of Hung Yen Province Police seized: 2 cars; 22 smart mobile phones; 8 high-configuration computers with internet connection; 116 phone SIM cards; more than 200 million VND in cash; more than 2,000 pages of documents related to fraudulent activities to appropriate assets through the "Toptrade1" trading floor and many fake rings, watches, and car keys to deceive investors; at the same time, froze 22 bank accounts of the subjects.

Currently, the Investigation Police Agency of Hung Yen Province Police is continuing to expand the investigation and arrest related subjects in the network.
