Preventive health work is identified as a key task to improve the quality of people's health care. Therefore, Cam Thuy District Health Center always adheres to the guidance and direction of the Department of Health on this activity. Every year, the center always actively develops plans and implements epidemic prevention and control (PCD) in the new situation. Along with the general plan, the center has developed a PCD plan for each season, each type of disease, and surveillance, early detection of infectious diseases, zoning, and timely handling. At the same time, guide units and localities to strengthen monitoring and supervision of old outbreaks or places at risk of forming an outbreak to take measures to prevent outbreaks. When a new case or suspected case is detected, samples will be taken for testing and epidemiological investigation; coordinate with communes and townships to organize proactive spraying of PCD chemicals at households, to prevent epidemics from arising and spreading to the community.
In order to ensure the fast, timely and accurate PCD work, the district and local health centers regularly strengthen and consolidate the Steering Committee and mobile PCD teams to be ready to investigate and verify, assess, handle outbreaks, control outbreaks when necessary. The Center also always ensures a sufficient number of drugs, infusions, chemicals and supplies for PCD work. Maintaining the information and reporting system for infectious diseases and epidemics; organize the monitoring and monitoring of the fluctuations of viral vectors in high-risk localities in order to have a timely PCD plan. Accordingly, epidemics such as influenza A, influenza B, hand, foot and mouth disease, COVID-19 ... are all monitored, counted and handled according to regulations. Since the beginning of the year, Cam Thuy district has collected and treated 1.086 cases of seasonal flu, 188 cases of diarrhea, 6 cases of chickenpox, 186 cases recorded positive for SARS-CoV-2.
The District Health Center also focuses on training to improve skills and professionalism on PCD for staff at the center, and health workers in communes and villages. Strengthen coordination and support for commune health stations, schools and residential communities in the implementation of environmental sanitation, food hygiene and safety. Coordinate with medical examination and treatment facilities for timely detection and treatment of disease cases.
Along with professional measures, propaganda also plays an important role in improving the effectiveness of preventive medicine. Therefore, the center regularly cooperates with local authorities, mass organizations and schools to promote propaganda and mobilize cadres, civil servants, public employees, employees and the people to well implement the policies. , policies of the Party and the State on PCD work; on how to recognize epidemics, the role of vaccines and the benefits of getting the right shots; promote the spirit of solidarity and join hands with PCD. Officials and health workers also mobilized the People to regularly clean the environment around houses, clear sewers and water tanks, clean up tools and waste, clear bushes around the house. In addition, propagandize and mobilize the People to fully immunize children and adults, and ensure nutrition for children. As a result, people's awareness of preserving the living environment in the family and community is increasing, and littering is limited. The percentage of households with hygienic latrines reached 88,1%; the rate of people using hygienic water reached 97,8%.
Not only does the disease control well, the district health center also does a good job in the management and prevention of non-communicable diseases through prevention of risk factors. The Center has directed communes to maintain management and treatment of non-communicable diseases. Currently, the center and health stations are managing 167 asthma patients; 97 patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease; 216 cancer patients; 6.010 cardiovascular and blood pressure patients; 1.697 diabetic patients, 411 psychiatric patients.
