(NLDO) - The efforts of the teachers and students of the Vietnam College of Medical and Pharmaceutical Technology have been highly appreciated by the leaders of the Ministry of Education and Training.

On March 8th, in Da Nang City, the Vietnam College of Medical and Pharmaceutical Technology held a ceremony to celebrate its 20th anniversary and award diplomas to its 17th cohort of full-time students.

Speaking on behalf of the school's leadership, Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Vietnam College of Medical and Pharmaceutical Technology, said that in 2018, Duc Tri Private College officially changed its name to the Vietnam College of Medical and Pharmaceutical Technology, according to a decision of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs .

Over 20 years of establishment and development, the Vietnam College of Medical and Pharmaceutical Technology has gradually affirmed itself and gained recognition from society and the business community. To date, the college has 6 training facilities in Da Nang, Hanoi , Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho, Gia Lai and Dak Lak.

Mr. Le Tan Dung, Deputy Minister of Education and Training, congratulated the school on its achievements.

In his congratulatory speech, Mr. Le Tan Dung, Deputy Minister of Education and Training, highly appreciated the achievements of the teachers and students of the Vietnam College of Medical and Pharmaceutical Technology over the past 20 years.

The Deputy Minister of Education and Training stated that over the past period, the Vietnam College of Medical and Pharmaceutical Technology has continuously expanded its scale and improved the quality of training to become one of the reputable vocational education institutions, contributing to the development of healthcare and public health, especially in Da Nang City.

Over the past 20 years, the school has trained more than 11,000 full-time students and tens of thousands of trainees in short-term courses. Graduates have a high employment rate, with many becoming key officials and business owners nationwide. Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Committee, said that the city will create all conditions to support teaching and the development of vocational education in the area.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Committee, the city has issued a plan to implement the Strategy for the Development of Vocational Education in Da Nang until 2030, with a vision to 2045. This aims to rapidly develop vocational education to meet the diverse needs of the labor market, the people, and the increasingly high demands for the quantity, structure, and quality of skilled human resources for the city's development in each stage.

The plan sets basic goals for 2030, focusing on improving the quality and effectiveness of vocational education to meet the national demand for skilled labor; to have a modern industrial sector; to proactively participate in the national labor training market; with some professions reaching the level of ASEAN-4 countries; contributing to raising the percentage of trained workers with degrees and certificates to 64%.

"In the future, there needs to be closer coordination between schools and hospitals, medical facilities, and businesses; developing training programs that are appropriate and relevant to practical needs, and improving the quality of training to supply the labor market. This will contribute to improving the quality of human resources, especially in the health sector, in Da Nang in particular and the whole country in general," emphasized Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi.
