FPT University is organizing a nationwide AI and Robotics competition for high school students.

On March 27th, FPT University, part of the FPT Group, launched the FPTU AI & Robotics Challenge (FARC) 2025, creating an environment to help high school students nationwide apply technology to practice and develop essential skills in the digital age.

The competition is open to secondary school students nationwide, including: high schools, ethnic boarding schools, continuing education centers, vocational education centers, and equivalent educational institutions. Each school can register a maximum of 3 teams, each team consisting of 5 students and 1 mentor.

To participate in FARC 2025, teams can register online on the competition's official website, or send their applications by mail toFPT University campuses from March 27th to April 14th.

According to Mr. Nguyen Hung Quan - Director of Admissions at FPT University, FPT Group - Head of the competition organizing committee, in the context of the 4.0 industrial revolution, artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics are increasingly asserting their key role in the development of society. Early access to and application of these technologies, especially for high school students, is an important factor in guiding and developing talent and preparing high-quality human resources for the country.

“The FPTU AI & Robotics Challenge 2025 is not simply a technology playground, but also a solid stepping stone for high school students to explore their potential, develop practical skills, and determine their future career paths. Through this competition, FPT University aims to affirm its pioneering role in promoting STEAM ( Science - Technology - Engineering - Arts - Mathematics) education in Vietnam, accompanying students on their journey to becoming high-tech human resources that meet the demands of the digital age,” Mr. Quan shared.

The competition's launch ceremony was attended by representatives from high schools in Hanoi, Hai Phong, Bac Giang, Thanh Hoa, and other locations. Mr. Khuat Van Tien, Vice Principal of Hai Ba Trung High School in Thach That (Hanoi), shared that FARC 2025 is not only an opportunity for high school students passionate about AI and Robotics to showcase their abilities, but also a playground to inspire creativity and promote the spirit of technological exploration among young people nationwide.

At the ceremony, Mr. Le Ngoc Tuan, M.Sc. - Director of Technology Experience at FPT Education Organization, FPT Group, announced this year's competition theme: "Sustainable Agriculture." Competing teams need to invent robots capable of collaborating with farmers, thereby building an advanced agricultural system that applies modern technology while retaining a distinctly Vietnamese identity. With this challenge, the organizers hope to discover talented inventors and innovators in the fields of agriculture and robotics, opening up many groundbreaking solutions for the future.

One of the highlights of the ceremony was the robotics demonstration match between three teams from Hanoi schools: Phung Khac Khoan High School, FPT Hanoi High School, and Hai Ba Trung High School. These teams have won numerous national and international competitions.

FARC 2025 will consist of three main rounds: AI Programming Competition; Regional Robotics Competition; and National Finals. Teachers and students participating in the National Finals (July 26-27) will have all their accommodation and meals fully sponsored by FPT University.

FARC 2025 will consist of 3 rounds of competition and 2 rounds of online training.

At FARC 2025, the scoring criteria are designed to comprehensively assess the capabilities of the competing teams, ensuring fairness and accurately reflecting their ability to apply AI as well as design, program, and control robots effectively.

The competition will award prizes to contestants in the AI ​​programming round and the national final round. In the AI ​​programming round, the organizers will award 2 first prizes, 2 second prizes, 2 third prizes, and 6 consolation prizes, with prize values ​​ranging from 2 to 10 million VND for each team.

At the National Finals, the organizers will award 2 First Prizes, 2 Second Prizes, 2 Third Prizes, and 8 Consolation Prizes with a total prize value of over 300 million VND. The First Prize-winning team will receive 50 million VND and a two-year scholarship at FPT University for all members. The Second, Third, and Consolation Prize-winning teams will receive 35 million VND, 25 million VND, and 15 million VND respectively, along with a two-year or one-year scholarship from the university for each member. The remaining teams in the Finals will receive a merit scholarship from FPT University worth 30 million VND per person.
