Fulbright University Vietnam operates independently from the Fulbright Scholarship Program.

On June 19, Fulbright University Vietnam said that in response to some recent misunderstandings on online platforms, Fulbright University Vietnam affirmed that the school is completely independent from the Fulbright Scholarship Program operated by the US Department of State.

Founded in 2016, Fulbright University Vietnam is the first non-profit, liberal arts university in Vietnam, with the mission of educating the next generation of entrepreneurs, scientists, engineers, scholars, and artists who will help shape the country's future.

Also according to Fulbright University Vietnam, although an independent organization, Fulbright University Vietnam receives strong support from the Vietnamese Government and the US Government.

The school is proud to bear the name Fulbright in honor of Senator J. William Fulbright and in recognition of the essential role of the Fulbright network of academic exchange programs in the process of normalizing Vietnam-United States relations.

However, Fulbright University Vietnam is completely unrelated to the Fulbright Scholarship Program currently operated in Vietnam by the U.S. Embassy in Hanoi .

Recent changes related to the Fulbright Scholarship Program Council in the United States do not affect the school's operations, training programs or development orientation.

Fulbright University Vietnam continues to pursue the goal of building educational programs that aim to create positive change, helping students prepare for a career full of opportunities and a life full of meaning.

The school is committed to serving Vietnamese society through research and community service activities.
