Fulbright University Vietnam operates independently from the Fulbright Scholarship Program.

On June 19th, Fulbright University Vietnam stated that, in response to some recent misunderstandings on online platforms, the university affirms its complete independence from the Fulbright Scholarship Program administered by the U.S. Department of State.

Established in 2016, Fulbright University Vietnam is the first non-profit liberal arts university in Vietnam, with a mission to educate a generation of entrepreneurs, scientists, engineers, scholars, and artists who will contribute to shaping the country's future.

According to Fulbright University Vietnam, although an independent institution, Fulbright University Vietnam receives strong support from the Vietnamese Government and the U.S. Government.

The school proudly bears the Fulbright name in honor of Senator J. William Fulbright and to recognize the essential role of the Fulbright academic exchange program network in the normalization of Vietnam-US relations.

However, Fulbright University Vietnam is completely unrelated to the Fulbright Scholarship Program currently administered by the U.S. Embassy in Hanoi in Vietnam.

Recent changes related to the Fulbright Scholarship Program Council in the United States do not affect the school's operations, training programs, or development direction.

Fulbright University Vietnam continues to pursue its goal of building educational programs that create positive change, preparing students for a career full of opportunities and a meaningful life.

The university is committed to serving Vietnamese society through research and community service activities.
