The National Flag Road project contributes to educating the spirit of patriotism (In the photo: The National Flag Road project in Tan Binh commune, Tan Tru district).
In Tan Binh commune, Tan Tru district, Long An province, along both sides of Huynh Van Ky road, green trees and flowerbeds are vying to show off their colors. Especially, the red flags with yellow stars fluttering in the wind add to the vibrant atmosphere of the countryside.
In early March 2025, the "Bright - Green - Clean and Beautiful" road project - Huynh Van Ky road, donated by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, was inaugurated in Binh Tay hamlet. With a total length of 900m, the project includes the installation of 35 lampposts and 35 flagpoles. The total cost of implementation was 100 million VND.
In addition to this road, the Youth Union of the commune, in coordination with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune, implemented the National Flag Road project along Tran Ba An road in Binh Dong hamlet. The project is 2km long with 45 flagpoles fixed to solar-powered streetlights.
Additionally, there is the "Bright - Green - Clean and Beautiful" road - Le Cong Hau road in Binh Dong hamlet, Tan Binh commune, with 15 solar-powered streetlights and 15 flagpoles. The total length of the road is 800m, and the project cost over 30 million VND, funded by philanthropists.
Ho Tuan An, Acting Secretary of the Youth Union of Tan Binh commune, Tan Tru district, said: "Anyone who has the opportunity to walk along roads lined with national flags, admiring the red flag with a yellow star fluttering in the wind, will surely feel moved, nostalgic, and even more proud and loving towards the Fatherland."
In Duc Hue district, after the inauguration of the National Flag Road project on the border patrol road in Binh Hoa Hung, My Binh, and My Thanh Tay communes, officials, Party members, and people in the district continued to actively respond and expand the project, creating a widespread impact in this heroic border region. These red flags with yellow stars not only contribute to beautifying the new rural landscape but also awaken national pride and patriotism in each citizen.
The project of building a national flag-lined road is being replicated in Duc Hue district.
We were present in Binh Hoa Nam commune, Duc Hue district, when the commune's youth union members were concentrating on implementing the "National Flag Road" youth project along the road leading to the historical site commemorating the establishment of Zones 7, 8, and 9 (the predecessors of the current Military Region 7) in Hamlet 3. 25 flagpoles have been erected along the 1.5km stretch of road.
According to Ly Ngoc Tram, Secretary of the Youth Union of Binh Hoa Nam commune, the campaign to create the National Flag Road is a highly significant activity in educating the younger generation about revolutionary traditions and ideals. Through this activity, the younger generation better understands the glorious traditions of the nation, the great achievements and sacrifices of previous generations, thereby fostering revolutionary spirit, determination, and active participation in labor, study, construction, and defense of the Fatherland, contributing to building a more prosperous and beautiful Binh Hoa Nam commune, achieving advanced new rural standards.
Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Duc Hue District Party Committee, Lai Thanh Phu Quy, emphasized: The national flag display carries profound political and social significance, contributing to the education of revolutionary traditions, arousing national pride and a sense of responsibility in each citizen in the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland.
Currently, Duc Hue district has three border communes: My Binh, Binh Hoa Hung, and My Thanh Tay, and Binh Hoa Nam commune have implemented the National Flag Road project with a total length of approximately 8.5km. Accordingly, the Youth Union of these communes will mobilize to replace flags with new ones to celebrate major national holidays, important local events, or when flags fade over time.
The path lined with the national flag serves as a reminder of the revolutionary traditions and the immense sacrifices of our ancestors, so that today's generation can enjoy a prosperous, happy, and peaceful life. Walking beneath this path, everyone feels proud and pledges to continue writing the story of peace and building their homeland.
