Late in the afternoon, at the Nam Trach Commune Public Administrative Service Center, the Secretary of the Commune Youth Union, Duong Thi Huong Giang, along with other young union members, was still guiding residents on integrating their electronic health records into the VNeID application. When an elderly person, holding a smartphone, struggled to open the application, she patiently guided them through each small step.

Giang recounted that in the early stages of implementing digital transformation support activities at the grassroots level, she encountered many difficulties. Sometimes, incorrect procedures or unclear instructions discouraged people from continuing. After each such incident, she would go back and learn more, starting over to do better the next time. "The most effective learning method for me is still doing a lot, making many mistakes, and then correcting them," Giang shared.

In addition to attending training courses, the female Youth Union Secretary of the commune also independently learns more through documents, instructional videos , and connects with Youth Union members who have technological skills to support the community. Classes like "Digital Literacy for the People," the digitalization project of the Nhân Trạch village communal house, and activities supporting people in cleaning up land data are gradually bringing technology closer to daily life.

In the small classroom of Tan Hop Primary and Secondary School in Khe Sanh commune, teacher Nguyen Dac Nhat Tan often spends his time after class designing video lectures and researching activity models suitable for students in mountainous areas. Having been involved in youth group activities and teaching students in disadvantaged regions for over 10 years, he understands that for students to progress, teachers must first change themselves. "I always believe that to help students improve, I myself must first improve," teacher Nhat Tan said.

As a model young teacher in the mountainous region, he proactively applies technology to the activities of the Youth Union and skill-building educational models for students in the highlands. But what this young teacher cares about most is how to make students feel understood and motivated to come to school. Besides studying to improve his professional skills, he also cultivates patience and the ability to listen to his students. With students from disadvantaged backgrounds, he chooses to approach them like an older brother to encourage and support them.

Promoting the spirit of daring to think and daring to act.

Cao Thi Le Hang, the first female student of the Ruc ethnic group to enter university, is currently a final-year student at Quang Binh University. Born in Mo O O O village, Kim Phu commune—a place where people still face many difficulties—Hang understands that education is the path to escaping poverty.

In her early days studying at university in the city, the young girl from the Ruc ethnic group was filled with anxiety. However, the encouragement from her family, teachers, officers at the Ca Xeng Border Guard Post, and the support of many others gave her the motivation to continue striving. Throughout her years of study, Hang not only overcame difficulties but also participated in scientific research with the topic "Research on the current situation and proposed solutions to improve the effectiveness of health and personal hygiene education for Ruc (Chut) ethnic children in Quang Binh province (formerly)". Her research won second prize in the 2025 Science and Technology Award for students in higher education institutions, presented by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.

Thanks to her efforts in studying and training, Hang was honored to be admitted to the Party while still a student. "I always thought I had to study to help my parents and serve my homeland in the future. Studying is also a responsibility to my family and community," Hang shared.

In the daily work of young engineer Nguyen Nhat Long, who works in the Dispatching Department of Quang Tri Power Company, self-learning is almost a mandatory requirement to avoid falling behind in the face of rapidly changing technology. Having worked for many years in the SCADA and power industry automation fields, he has always proactively researched and applied technical solutions to improve system operation efficiency. According to Long, learning from and following President Ho Chi Minh's example today means not being afraid of difficulties, daring to think and act, and always maintaining a proactive attitude in his work. "Every problem that arises is an opportunity to delve deeper into research," Long said.

Ms. Tran Thi Thu, Vice Chairperson of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province and Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, stated that what is noteworthy about today's youth is their spirit of studying and following the thoughts, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh, which is no longer just slogans or formal movements, but is increasingly demonstrated through concrete actions in learning, working, and contributing to the community.

Ms. Thu shared: “During his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh always considered self-study as the path to self-improvement. Today, many young people are learning from and following his example with a spirit of self-study and self-improvement to adapt to the new era. These include students who overcome difficulties and persevere in their studies, young teachers who are dedicated to disadvantaged areas, and pioneering Youth Union members in digital transformation and applying technology to serve the people. The Youth Union will continue to accompany and create an environment for young people to develop their creativity, aspirations for contribution, and spread more beautiful examples in learning, work, and life.”

On their journey to establishing themselves and their careers, many young people are quietly honing their skills through simple, everyday tasks. Some teach in mountainous and border regions, others master technology, and still others strive to learn in order to change their own future and that of their homeland. Their common thread is a spirit of self-improvement, a sense of responsibility, and a desire to contribute. This is also how today's youth learn from and follow President Ho Chi Minh's example, starting with the most familiar things.
