Forecasts indicate that over the next 24-48 hours, Ho Chi Minh City will continue to experience moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms. From October 30th onwards, the rain will gradually decrease in both area and intensity. Total rainfall will generally range from 70-150mm, with some areas exceeding 150mm. The affected period is from 1 PM on October 27th to 1 PM on October 29th. Areas with high total rainfall include Cho Lon: 70-100mm, Thoi An: 70-100mm, Cu Chi: 100-150mm, Binh Chanh: 100-150mm, Phu Giao: 110-150mm, Thu Dau Mot: 100-140mm, Con Dao: 120-180mm… Due to the impact of heavy rain and thunderstorms, Ho Chi Minh City needs to be wary of flooding in low-lying areas, riverside areas, and canal areas. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind.

According to the Southern Vietnam Meteorological and Hydrological Station, over the past 24 hours, the highest daily tide levels at most stations on the Saigon River have receded rapidly. By 7:00 AM on October 27th, the actual highest daily tide levels measured at several stations were as follows: Nha Be station (Dong Dien River) reached 1.32m; Phu An station (Saigon River) reached 1.37m; and Thu Dau Mot station reached 1.55m. Water levels at most stations are forecast to continue receding rapidly in the coming days. The highest daily tide levels, approximately at or above Warning Level 1, are expected to remain until the end of October 27th.
