Inspiration for green entrepreneurship

The Youth Start-up Award 2024 aims to attract environmentally friendly startup ideas that create practical value for the community. This will contribute to accelerating the circular economy and working towards the government's goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.

Through the selection and introduction of promising startups, the program contributes to supporting individual entrepreneurs, becoming a bridge for them to access investors and startup funds.

The stories of startups, along with various media activities and talk shows held during the program, contribute to inspiring a green entrepreneurial spirit among young people, nurturing ideas and determination to start green businesses.

This year, the program continues to have the familiar support of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Startup Support Center (BSSC), and the Ho Chi Minh City Young Businessmen Association (YBA).

The Global Business and Integration Consulting (GIBC), VinaCapital Fund, and several experts participated in the evaluation committee.

With the theme of green entrepreneurship, this year's criteria framework for evaluating startups also includes the level of preparation and readiness to practice ESG for consideration and assessment.

ESG includes Environmental factors (factors related to the startup's impact on the environment, from production to consumption), Social factors (impact on the community, including both internal and external communities), and Governance factors (assessing the startup's governance structure and commitment to sustainable development).

These are the members expected to participate in the judging panel of the Tuoi Tre Start-up Award 2024.

Youth Start-up Award 2024: Connecting, Spreading

The Youth Start-up Award 2024 is now accepting applications from projects until September 30, 2024. The program plans to publish relevant information in various formats, including news articles, videos , and megastories, introducing startup models and projects that meet the program's criteria.

The judging panel members will interact and connect with startups to gain a deeper understanding through a special Coffee Talk judging format. Through this process, they will select outstanding startups to be honored at the program's awards gala, scheduled to be held in November 2024 at the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Cultural Center.

The program will include various activities such as: a talk show titled "Building a Brand from the Starting Line," and a workshop titled "Building and Positioning a Sustainable Brand."

In particular, the "Youth Golf Tournament for Start-ups 2024" is expected to attract 150 golfers to compete at Long Thanh Golf Course.

A 4-year journey, over 1,000 startups.

Initiated by Tuoi Tre newspaper in 2019 under the name Golf For Start-up 2019, the Tuoi Tre Start-up Award has attracted more than 1,000 start-up projects and businesses over four editions, creating a forum for start-ups to introduce and showcase themselves.

Many projects and startup models in various fields have been honored and introduced to the public over the years. These include:

MimosaTEK is a business providing farm management services to clients ranging from small and medium-sized farmers to large farms across the country, cultivating a wide variety of crops.

BusMap - a public transport app that helps you travel by bus in the smartest and most convenient way.

DOL - a project valued at $25 million - has flourished after participating in this program using the Linearthinking learning method, and now has more than 10 branches nationwide.

Most recently, Foodmap is a project developing solutions and applications to optimize each link in the supply chain, such as agricultural product procurement and operational processes, while also increasing the company's presence closer to consumers.
