After Tran Thi Thanh Thuy left the Indonesian team, Vietnamese women's volleyball still has a star playing abroad. That is Tran Thi Bich Thuy, a middle blocker who joined GS Caltex Seoul (South Korea) at the end of December 2024. The athlete, born in 2000, performed well in her first matches and gradually gained trust.

Coach Lee Young-taek of GS Caltex Seoul revealed that Tran Thi Bich Thuy could be given more playing time in the near future. Specifically, Coach Lee has a tactical idea to utilize the abilities of the Vietnamese middle blocker.

"Oh Seo-yeon is playing consistently well. Kwon Min-ji's performance is inconsistent, but she's still doing well. I can utilize Bich Thuy and Seo-yeon's quick attacks more effectively. Training sessions will help me find the solution," coach Lee Young-taek revealed.

Previously, after using Bich Thuy in the first few matches at the Korean championship, the head coach of GS Caltex Seoul highly praised the skills of this middle blocker. The blocking skills of the athlete born in 2000 were significantly different from those of her teammates.

"Thuy still shows a little hesitation when blocking, but her offensive movements are very good. She has good jumping ability. I recognize her blocking ability. When Bich Thuy plays well, it's easier for the back row defenders," said Lee Young-taek.

After her first 7 games for GS Caltex, Bich Thuy scored 49 points. Her offensive shooting percentage was 44.93%. Among the top 30 scorers in Round 4 of the Korean Women's Volleyball League, only 4 players had a higher shooting percentage than Bich Thuy.

In the match against Korea Expressway - GS Caltex Seoul's most recent victory - Bich Thuy made 3 successful blocks, one of which scored a point to give GS Caltex a 21-20 lead at a crucial moment before securing the match-point victory with a final score of 3-1.
