The match was played in three halves of 30 minutes each. The arrangement of the match was to allow the coaching staff to test the players' physical strength and tactical adaptability. Coach Kim Sang-sik used almost the entire force of both teams, constantly changing the formation to test personnel and tactical options.

In this match, U22 Vietnam surprisingly opened the score in the first half thanks to a goal by midfielder Le Van Thuan. The goal helped the young Vietnamese players play with excitement and confidence against their seniors.

However, in the second half, the Vietnamese team gradually regained control of the game and scored two consecutive goals. In the third half, neither the Vietnamese team nor the U22 team scored any more goals.

Although it was just a practice match, the performance of both teams was closely monitored by the coaching staff. Coach Kim Sang-sik was cautious in testing tactics, especially the way to operate the midfield and organize attacks in a possession-based game.

The victory over the U22 team is an important step forward for the Vietnamese team before the official match against Malaysia in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers at Bukit Jalil Stadium on June 10. With Cong Phuong withdrawing due to injury, the coaching staff will have more time to adjust personnel and test the attack in the remaining training days.

According to the plan, the Vietnamese team will have its last training session in Hanoi on the afternoon of June 5. Then, on June 6, the whole team will move to Malaysia to prepare for the official match.
