- Vietnam Cooperative Alliance : Visiting and working with cooperatives in Bac Lieu.
- Building a strong Cooperative Union system.
- Comrade Nguyen Van Vu will serve as Chairman of the Ca Mau Provincial Cooperative Union for the term 2025-2030.
To clarify the achievements and development direction of OCOP products in the context of digital transformation, reporters from Ca Mau Newspaper and Radio and Television had an interview with Mr. Nguyen Van Vu, Chairman of the Ca Mau Provincial Cooperative Union .
- Sir, the One Commune One Product Program has become an important driving force for promoting rural economic development and enhancing the value of local agricultural products. Could you tell us about the outstanding results that cooperatives in Ca Mau province have achieved in developing OCOP products in recent times?
Mr. Nguyen Van Vu: In recent times, cooperatives have actively participated in the process of building and developing OCOP products, achieving many positive results. To date, the province has more than 350 OCOP products, of which 129 products have achieved 3-4 star standards from 46 cooperatives. After review, there are currently about 50 potential products that cooperatives are perfecting to propose for evaluation and OCOP recognition in 2026.
The OCOP products of cooperatives in the province are becoming increasingly diverse and abundant, reflecting the unique identity of Ca Mau province. Designs, labels, and packaging have been improved; quality and prices are in line with market demand, thus gaining consumer trust and preference.

- Digital transformation is becoming an inevitable trend in economic development in general and the collective economy in particular. In your opinion, how does the application of digital technology impact the production, brand building, market connection, and consumption of OCOP products by cooperatives?
Mr. Nguyen Van Vu: Digital transformation is both a challenge and an opportunity for cooperatives. Surveys show that most small-scale cooperatives have limited resources for investing in technology; however, this is also an opportunity for cooperatives to boldly innovate and gradually apply technology to production, business, and product promotion.
Through digital platforms, OCOP products can reach consumers more quickly, widely, and effectively. This is an important channel for introducing cooperative products to domestic and international customers, expanding consumption markets, enhancing product value, and increasing competitiveness in the market.
- Recently, the Provincial Cooperative Union, in coordination with Ca Mau Newspaper and Radio and Television, organized livestream sessions to promote and introduce OCOP products. How do you assess the effectiveness of this activity in enhancing brand recognition, expanding consumer markets, and encouraging cooperatives to innovate their business thinking?

Mobilize domestic and foreign resources to support housing construction for the people. On June 4th, in Bac Lieu ward, the Union of Friendship Organizations of Ca Mau province, in coordination with the Latter-day Saint Charities organization (USA), held a closing ceremony for a project supporting housing construction for people in Ca Mau province. The project aimed to eliminate temporary and dilapidated housing for poor, near-poor, and disadvantaged households in remote areas and ethnic minority communities; while also contributing to people-to-people diplomacy and promoting solidarity, peace, friendship, and good cooperation between the people of Vietnam and the United States in Ca Mau province. Mr. Nguyen Van Vu: After the provincial merger, there are many OCOP products in the area, but their reach has not been commensurate with their potential. Therefore, the Provincial Cooperative Union, in coordination with Ca Mau Newspaper and Radio and Television, organizes livestream sessions to promote OCOP products to domestic and international consumers.
The livestream session is held regularly at 6 PM every Thursday, in conjunction with the OCOP Market on the first Saturday of each month, and will be maintained until the end of 2026, aiming to promote and sell OCOP products. Each livestream session attracts nearly 60,000 views, over 10,000 interactions, and approximately 3,000 comments, demonstrating the widespread reach and significant consumer interest. Participating cooperatives meticulously prepare their presentations, highlighting the unique characteristics, advantages, and quality of their products, thereby enhancing brand recognition and expanding their consumer market.
This is a new approach, so many cooperatives are still unfamiliar with it and face pressure during the participation process, but the effectiveness of communication and promotion has been clearly demonstrated. We consider this one of the important solutions to bring Ca Mau's OCOP products closer to domestic and international consumers.
With the message "OCOP Ca Mau - The Quintessence of Ca Mau", we aim to affirm the value of products that are the culmination of the diligence and creativity of the people of the southernmost tip of the country.

- In the context of the ongoing digital transformation and the increasing demand for enhancing the competitiveness of OCOP products, what directions and solutions will the Provincial Cooperative Union implement in the coming period to support OCOP cooperatives and businesses in promoting the application of digital technology, expanding markets, and increasing product value?
Mr. Nguyen Van Vu: In the coming time, we will continue to review and assess actual needs to provide appropriate support to cooperatives in the digital transformation process.
Besides proposing support for infrastructure and equipment, in 2026, the Provincial People's Committee will support 64 cooperatives in implementing digital signatures, electronic invoices, electronic contracts, and software for promoting and introducing products. A major current challenge is the shortage and weakness of digital human resources. Therefore, the Provincial Cooperative Union will continue to organize training courses to improve the application of technology skills for cooperative managers and members.
We hope that cooperatives will proactively apply digital technology to production, business, and processing to improve productivity and product quality. At the same time, cooperatives need to expand production scale, develop new products, upgrade OCOP star ratings, and regularly innovate designs and packaging to meet market demands.
Most importantly, product quality remains paramount. This is the reputation and brand of the cooperative. Only by maintaining quality, effectively applying digital technology, and constantly innovating can cooperatives stabilize the market, enhance competitiveness, and continue to affirm the value of the "OCOP Ca Mau - Quintessence of Ca Mau" brand.
Thank you, sir!
