On April 18th, in Hoa Binh , Le Quy Don University of Technology, in collaboration with the University of Technology Sydney, organized a workshop titled "Application of Digital Transformation Technologies in Disaster Response and Search and Rescue Management in Vietnam".
At the workshop, delegates, experts, and scientists assessed the results of disaster response and search and rescue efforts in Vietnam; and the results of applying scientific and technological achievements to this task.
The workshop contributed many ideas to the task "Applying digital transformation technologies in disaster response and search and rescue management in Vietnam" under the Vietnam-Australia Innovation Partnership Program funded by the Australian Government .
The project was implemented from September 2021 to November 2022. A notable achievement was the development of AI remote sensing technology and simulation applications in search and rescue operations. Le Quy Don University of Technology demonstrated the use of integrated recognition software with unmanned aerial vehicles and the use of simulation software to support the training of search and rescue forces.
Dr. Nguyen Trung Kien from Le Quy Don University of Technology stated: "The simulation system has proven its superiority in carrying out search and rescue missions and has high applicability. Search and rescue forces using the simulation software can visually experience the three-dimensional terrain of the training area, create scenario scenarios, and simulate developments. Through the simulation software, search and rescue forces can role-play according to their assigned responsibilities and carry out actions as assigned."
