The load capacity is increasing.
In recent days, the weather has been sweltering, with outdoor temperatures reaching 33 degrees Celsius. Many residential areas in Hoa Khanh, Hoa Cuong, Cam Le, Son Tra, and Ngu Hanh Son wards experienced sudden power outages due to overloaded transformer substations. Teams of workers from Da Nang Power Company worked through the night to repair and restore power supply.
Many residential areas had their power restored within 1-2 hours, but some experienced a second power outage in the middle of the night due to extremely high electricity demand at the same time. Power was only restored near dawn, when the outdoor temperature dropped and electricity demand decreased.
Mr. Tran Xuan Hoang (a resident of Hoa Lu Street, Son Tra Ward) said that over the past week, sections of Chu Huy Man, Nai Hien Dong 1, Nai Hien Dong 2, Bui Duong Lich streets, etc., have experienced power outages up to 3 times in just 2 days, totaling more than 10 hours.
However, seeing the workers repairing the Nai Hien Dong T1 substation late at night and even in the scorching heat, the people felt sympathy and understanding. “After the workers repaired the substation, the power outage due to overload was resolved. People hope that Da Nang Power Company will regularly inspect the power grid and substations to promptly detect overload situations and proactively implement technical measures to avoid and minimize power outages due to overload,” Mr. Hoang said.

Expedited handover of rural power grids.
Also this past week, a residential area in Dai Hiep commune experienced nearly 10 power outages in one night due to excessive electricity demand, while the transformer station and rural power grid, which have been in operation for over 15 years, have been slow to be upgraded.
Mr. Ngo Van Thanh (a resident of Phu Hai village, Dai Loc commune) said: “The transformer station and power grid managed and operated by the Dai Hiep Agricultural Service and General Business Cooperative have been delayed in being handed over to the electricity sector for many years, so the conductor cross-section and transformer capacity are too small compared to the electricity needs of the people, especially during the hot season. People hope that the handover of the power grid to the electricity sector will be completed soon so that upgrades can be implemented to meet the electricity needs.”
Similarly, many households in the Dai Quang area of Ha Nha commune also reported weak voltage, insufficient to meet their needs, as well as delays in handing over the power grid from the Dai Quang Agricultural Service Cooperative to the electricity sector for management, operation, and upgrading.
According to Da Nang Power Company, in accordance with the policy of the City People's Committee, the company and Dai Loc Power Company have coordinated with the two aforementioned cooperatives and local authorities to actively complete the necessary documents and procedures for taking over the cooperatives as regulated, and are expected to complete the handover process in the third quarter of 2026.
Because the cooperatives' power grids were invested in before 2009, and the original investment records are no longer available, it is necessary to re-survey the current situation, create new lists and detailed drawings... along the total length of the power grid of approximately 52km, leading to a prolonged implementation time.

Alongside the process of taking over the rural low-voltage power grid from the two cooperatives, the company also surveyed and developed investment plans for the construction and major repair of the power grid, reporting to the Central Vietnam Power Corporation to allocate funds for immediate implementation after the handover is completed; simultaneously, it developed a plan for regular maintenance to address potential safety risks on the power grid. The repair of substations and low-voltage main lines in the areas of the two cooperatives is expected to take place in the second quarter of 2027.
According to Bui Do Quoc Huy, Deputy Director of Da Nang Power Company, the company has been carrying out many power grid renovations and increasing the capacity of substations within the power sector's assets and management scope to meet the increasing load demand.
Simultaneously, ensure power supply to the electricity delivery point at the main circuit breaker (automatic switch) of the transformer substations of the two cooperatives. The transformer substations are currently operating stably, their capacity meets the load demand, and they also ensure power supply to the main electricity sales point for the cooperatives.
Currently, within the city, there is still the Duy Son Cooperative that has not yet handed over its power grid. Da Nang Power Company is ready to proceed with the handover of the rural low-voltage power grid upon request from the cooperative and after a transfer decision from the Da Nang City People's Committee as per regulations.
